There’s something about the winters that makes you fall in love with the season. The hot cocoa, snuggly nights by the fire place, Christmas, the snow and winter wear which makes the season special. But winter fashion can be tricky. You can easily look like a mess or freeze to death if you don’t get your outfit right. Many of us sometime think that winter fashion is boring and you have to replace your cute floral dresses with grey and dull sweaters. But winter fashion can also be interesting with a few tips and tricks. This winter let’s transform your winter wardrobe with these styling tips:
Skinny Jeans: Skinny Jeans are a must have for this season as they are extremely versatile, keep you warm and give a slender look to your outfit. Be it ripped or leather, one can never go wrong with skinny jeans. Team up a pair of skinny jeans with ankle booties and a cashmere sweater for a casual look. Skinny jeans or straight cut pants also look great with oversized coats without making your outfit look bulky. If you prefer wide legged pants then opt for a more structured coat and wedges for a chic look.
Wrap/Scarves: Wraps and Scarves can be your best friend this season. They can make any outfit stylish and fun in minutes. So invest in a variety of colorful and textured wraps and scarves. Also don’t be afraid to experiment with the different styles of wearing a scarf. Make the scarf the hero of the outfit by looping it around a plain black dress and transform your look.
Boots: Boots are a must have this season. Ankle boots are great for daily wear; you can pair them with almost any outfit. Be it a maxi dress and a jacket or turtleneck top and skinny jeans. Over the knee boots are also extremely stylish. Pair them with a printed skirt, a knitted dress or even over your skinny jeans for a trendy look.
Turtlenecks: Turtlenecks are great for winters. They keep you warm and can be worn for office wear as well as casual wear. Tuck in a turtleneck top with your favorite pair of trousers and a well fitted blazer with loafers for a stylish office look. You can also wear it by itself with a pair of jeans and some long necklaces for everyday wear.
Leather Jacket: A leather jacket is a wardrobe essential. Create a biker girl look by teaming it up with a pair of knee length boots, skinny jeans, and a graphic tee. Or pair it over a floral dress for a cool and casual look. You can invest in a basic black jacket or opt for colors like brown, tan, maroon or camel.
Jumpers: Cashmere jumpers are vital for winter. You can dress them up or down easily during the season. They are also extremely versatile, classy and look great with jeans, midi skirts, or dresses. For a formal look wear it with a collared shirt, a pair of trousers and a trench coat. You can also wear them with jeans, a statement bag and peep-toe ankle boots. For windy days you can team it up with a wrap to keep yourself warm.

Hats: Hats are like scarves. They add an element of fun to your outfit instantly. They can transform a boring black sweater to something chic if paired correctly. Team up a beanie with a formal dress, a trench coat and heels for office or pair a fedora with wide legged pants, loafers and a cashmere sweater for relaxed look.
Suede Dresses: Suede, Wool or velvet are the fabrics of the season. Style a suede dress with a cropped jacket, ankle length booties, leg warmers or stockings and a fedora hat for a boho look. You can also invest in suede or velvet skirts in bright hues like red, blue or maroon and create fun looks.
Statement Coat: Add a pop of color to your neutral wardrobe by investing in a statement coat. They can be oversized in vibrant hues like pink, orange or red or be textured and in neutral shades like black and grey. I have created a look with my statement coat by teaming it up with a pastel pink blouse, straight cut jeans and peep-toe boots for a casual look.

For Your Accessories

One of the most essential items in every wardrobe is a statement long coat. They are extremely comfortable, warm and stylish. A statement coat can be textured, colorful, or printed. There are also different lengths, cuts and styles available. So you have a lot of options to pick from. Step out of your comfort zone and invest in a non-black coat. They are magnificent and extremely versatile.

You can even style this outfit with skinny or crop jeans too, but I have put together this look by going for ripped jeans as I wanted a more casual Friday or a weekend look. If you want you can also button up and tuck in the shirt instead of knotting it up.

For all those girls who are single, don’t worry, you can try this style by raiding your dads or brothers cupboards too. But don’t tell them that you got these ideas from me or they might try to kill me …ha ha ha.

For instance – You can either pair a skater white dress with a black leather jacket and open toe boots for an edgy look or pair it with tan accessories like a belt and wedges for a casual look. Rock the effortless look at picnic in the park by throwing on a colorful scarf and sandals. If you are not big on accessories like bracelets and earrings then just add a pop of color by carrying a vibrant colored clutch and break the monotony.
It’s a fit ‘n’ flare dress with a pleated skirt and a cross over back. This piece is a classic with a light floral design. It is one of the most versatile outfits in my closet. I styled this outfit with a navy bag, black strappy heels and metallic jewelry. Gold or silver jewelry looks subtle and chic on a white dress. I wanted an elegant look so I lightly curled my hair and applied natural makeup and just focused on adding some color to the outfit with a bright lipstick.
You can easily dress up your simple striped dress for almost any occasion. Not sure how to dress up your striped dress?
With a black velvet choker: Chokers are in trend this season. Make the choker the start of the outfit and go minimal on other accessories. Instead of adding some color to my outfit I went for applying a bright shade of lipstick. Smokey eyes also look great with a choker and a striped dress.

For me, the fascination with Autumn is not limited to the incredible couture culture is offers. It’s also about the wonderful character nature assumes in this while. There’s foliage in different stages of growth, there are these lovely breezes, the skies are clear, evenings get slightly chilly. And I genuinely believe that when your environment is so stimulating, you tend to make the best of fashion choices.
So, this outfit post is inspired by the awesome autumn weather and the many outdoor escapes I indulge in around this time. As you can see, I am wearing blue skinny jeans with a black and white striped shirt and sleeveless brown jacket. My entire outfit is from the collection by Fatface which is one of the finest brands creating unique outdoor casuals.
The simple jeans and shirt are the perfect complement to the statement fur-lined jacket. I love this hooded beauty for it matches the autumn palette wonderfully – a warm, deep brown shade which mirrors the hues of shed leaves and fallen twigs. Since there is a nip in the air after sunset these days, a sleeve-less jacket is a great way to keep yourself warm, especially if you are out exploring the beauty of nature. Also, it reassures me that it’s not quite winter yet and a just full-sleeves shirt will have me feeling cozy. And of course, layering adds a dash of casual glamour, creating the overall impression of effortless stylishness.
Outfit Details:
A coffee date is a safe option for a first date or a date where you want to get to know the person in a casual and comfortable setting. Unlike dancing or going for a movie, a coffee date helps you to really get to know the person and stimulates conversation.
Autumn is a season of colors. Add a pop of color in your outfit for a chic look. If you are going for an oversized top or jacket then you can team it up with body hugging skinny jeans.
You can layer up a dark tshirt with an oversized knit cardigan. Love the fact that this cardigan has tasselled edges and a beautiful draping in a flecked, stripe-detail yarn, combined . With skinny jeans and the right accessorizes like a cap, and structured bag or high heels you can add the much desired oomph to the outfit without being too over the top.
Gaga for Gingham
Have you ever noticed that the best dressed celebs are often minimalist in their fashion choices? And the reason for this is simple; clean, classic styles are always in vogue and difficult to go wrong with. Minimalism in terms of accessorising, layering and even makeup tends to create a more elegant, sophisticated look. Keep your inner boho-diva in check on days you want to sport a red-carpet appeal.
Celebrities are always called out when their hair or makeup is sloppy. Because unkempt hair and badly done makeup is highly noticeable and generally steals all the attention, no matter how lovely the clothes may be. So whenever you dress up, make sure your hair and makeup is on point too. Regardless of what your personal preference is – the “barely-there” look or something more dramatic – make sure it is done tastefully.
Another reason why celebs look the way they do is because they carry themselves with immense grace. If you want to look like a star, you’ll have to master that art too. Walk with poise, talk with composure and learn to pose. Developing these “airs” doesn’t mean you can’t have fun though! Just that you need to be a little more conscious of your carriage. After all, everyone’s going to be observing you!
It cannot be denied that one of the reasons celebrities are our fashion gurus is because they wear the best of the best. We may not be able to afford their kind of couture pieces, but we can surely try. Make sure to pick up a few items during the sale season to wear on special occasions. Sign up for newsletters by individual brands to know of off-season sales too. Basically, you have to be thrifty and smart as a shopper.
I’m glad rucksack bags have now become so popular in adult couture. When I was growing up, rucksacks were meant for the prime purpose of carrying books to school. But even as a kid I was very particular about the colour and kind of rucksack I would take to the next school picnic or day trip. And now, many years down the lane, I still find myself thinking about how to style a new rucksack – ahh! Some things never change!
Now a rucksack bag is not just a looker. It’s also very useful if you’re going to be spending much time outdoors. It can hold all your essentials but you don’t have to worry about any shoulder aches or discomfort, like you would with other large carryalls; the weight of the bag is evenly distributed across both shoulders and your hands are free to do whatever you want. Rucksacks are thus the perfect accessory for trekking trips and sightseeing sprees.
I have to admit though, the practical value of the Harriet Sanders bag is not the only reason I bought it. It also happens to be beautifully designed and seemingly sturdy – I can expect it to last me for several years with ease. And here’s the best part – I chose the design, leather and lining I wanted since all Harriet Sanders bags are customizable in these respects! Yes, you heard it right! Customizable bags!
Incidentally, her most recent achievement relates to her range of rucksack bags. These were showcased at the Pure London Show in both 2014 and 2015 as part of an exhibition of latest trends in accessories. If you were in any doubt about just how great a fashion statement these bags can be, especially for chic holidayers, this should convince you! And of course, the customization process just adds to the fun! I chose a blue lining on a rust leather base to create a striking rucksack with contrasting hues. Trust me, it looks wonderful!
1. Midi skirt: This is a great option when you are feeling ultra feminine. You can get an A-line skirt, pencil skirt or a pleated one, the choices are endless. You can pair a midi skirt with a sheer silk blouse and a pair of pointed heels. For a bold look, you can pick a skirt in a bright color and pair it with a neutral colored top.
I wanted to create a casual, carefree look, so I decided to play around with this trend myself. And what better time than the start of spring? I styled my floral headband with a gorgeous bohemian maxi dress – the lovely print and strapless style of the dress made it perfect for the ‘bohemian chic’ vibes that I was going for. I absolutely love the free-spirited, flirty feel of this dress, and the colour combination of blue and white screams summertime.
