Dressing this Winter season- Here are the 3 best looks!

As the seemingly endless summer came to an end. It’s time to dress up and flaunt the best we have in our pre-winter wardrobes. And I suggest some creative mix-and-match looks that can be ideated by combining different pieces that you have and creating versatile outfits for work and party. Here are three stellar looks that I want to share for autumn 2018.

The office look – straight skirt with or without jacket

Ribbed Turtleneck Top
Price: £16.95

Sassy Pleats Skirt
Price: £39.95

Let’s start with this stylish office look that I’ve created by wearing a grey pencil skirt with a red turtleneck. The Sassy Pleats Skirt in grey and red check is simple yet elegant and is embellished with decorative buttons to the back. It is teamed with a red ribbed turtleneck that offers warmth and complements it to perfection.

Coat from New Look

For jewelry, I chose to wear simple pearls with the outfit. And you can throw over the Red Check Bouclé Coat for extra layering and formal vibe. The ensemble is just right for the office and can carry you to the evening drinks as well!

The evening look-Jeans with sequin jumper

Sequin Embellished Jumper – Purple
Price: £45

Overdye Blue Jeggings
Price: £45

Taking the Chelsea Boot to new heights
Price: £75.00

The next is the stunning evening look, with a pair of skinny jeans and a delicate sequin jumper. The dark blue skinny jeans offer awesome comfort, while the gorgeous sequins provide just the right dose of glitz and glamour to make heads turn as you step into the pub. I chose to wear ankle-length boots with the outfit.

Eye-catching without going over the top-that’s how I would define this amazing evening look.

The casual look- Green puffer jacket with jeans

Cartmell Lightweight Down Jacket Detail
Price: £80.00

Overdye Blue Jeggings
Price: £45

Now that I talked about the office and evening-out looks, I would next talk about this swanky day-out look. This one is again with my dark blue jeans, this time teamed with a chic green puffer jacket.

The best thing about the jacket is that it is ultra-lightweight yet offers plenty of warmth because it is lightly down-filled. And I absolutely love this shade of green. Once again, I have finished the look with my black ankle-length boots.

So that sums up my three autumn styles for this season. Hope you’ll love them as much as I do!

Party Look Ideas for the season

The holiday season is officially here, with the festive countdown already started and you’ll probably be looking forward to two weeks of ultimate partying ahead. Well, you may have spent hours at the gym to look your best and cheat with delicacies and champagne, but is your wardrobe ready yet? Well, it’s high time that you start planning your holiday outfits for all the parties you’ve been invited to. And it would be smarter to have a few extra ones decided, just in case you get an unexpected invite! There would be family gatherings, work parties and New Year’s Eve and you would want to a unique look every time you step out. So let me help you with some of the best outfit tips that I’ve shortlisted for this festive season.

Before we go ahead with the tips, I would like to talk a bit about Esprit, my favorite for special occasion dresses. From the iconic little black number to sexy bodycon dresses, elegant sheath dresses, feminine maxi dresses, glamorous bustier dresses, and more, the special occasion dresses from Esprit come to my rescue every time. I already have some stocked in my wardrobe that I plan to wear this festive season and I’m planning to indulge in some more because with Esprit, I cannot just have enough!  Now let me share some cool festive wear tips that you can follow to look best this party season.

Experience the warmth of velvet

Velvet is not just for Santa Claus, it is ruling the fashion circuits this year as it looks amazing and keeps you warm as well. And what about this stunning Sheath Velvet dress with silver dots from Esprit. A perfect pick that has all the sass to make you stand apart on the dance floor! Team it with ankle-length boots and you’re ready to set the floor on fire.

Paint the town red

While black is the ultimate party color, you would not want to make it your signature style by wearing it on every single occasion. My idea of a perfect night out would be a rich velvet number in red that gets you all the attention you deserve. Pair it with a shimmery clutch, pretty dangling earrings and high heels and you’ll be a star in your right.

Don’t forget the shimmer

Chiffon dress with sequins
Price: £ 69.00

And how can you forget your sequins this festive season because no holiday wardrobe is ever complete without a shimmering sequined outfit. I’ve picked up this stunning dark teal chiffon sequin dress from Esprit for the New Year Eve. And this one promises to look awesome even if I wear it with a warm coat or jacket to keep the chill out.

Day or night, just be there with a perfect dress

Another challenge with festive dressing is that we think so much about the nights out that we tend to ignore the day parties. For the woman who wants to have all eyes on her as she attends a day out this party season, I recommend this trendy Chiffon dress with colorful woven polka dots. I’m sure you’ll love it as much I do.

Get gorgeously glittery

No shying around this party season! Reserve this gorgeous pleated mesh skirt with sequins for one of the special evenings that you would want to light up with your stunning presence. The lovely color coordinates well with black. I would recommend teaming it with a stretchy black jumper and high heels in black.

Be a showstopper with leather

One occasion that leaves me confused regarding the choice of outfits is an office party. But this time, I’ve found something perfect. Leather is a fabric that I find absolutely irresistible and would not want to skip for my festive dressing too. I’ve picked this Esprit jersey and faux leather dress to satiate my leather-love this season and is a good option for formal gatherings as well. The Bardot neck adds to the glamour quotient while the faux leather skirt gives it just the right dose of sass.

Save a maxi dress for a special occasion

I’m a true maxi lover and would not want to skip this style in any season, let alone holidays. So I have a perfect maxi dress saved for a special occasion. This sensuous black chiffon maxi dress from Esprit is embellished with rhinestones that give it the glitter and shine for being a perfect showstopper this New Year Eve.

Also to add more panache to your look dont forget to pair your outfit with killer pair of heels

Gold Leather Heel Boots

Slingback Stiletto Heel Court Shoes

Hope these tips will help you have a sassy holiday season ahead!

How to Make Your Glasses Work With Any Style

If there’s one thing we can be sure of in the fashion world, it’s that it changes constantly. If you look at photos taken at different points over time, you can easily see how styles have evolved and altered through the ages, and as Coco Chanel once said, “fashion changes, only the style remains the same.”

When it comes to glasses, we can see a similar pattern over time. The types of frames and styles of spectacles has moved along with the times just as much as clothing, and these days, they have arguably become one of the most important parts of your overall look.

With glasses, it’s all about developing your personal style – whether you enjoy vintage fashion, follow chic celebrity looks, or even like a little retro funk as part of your wardrobe, there are specs out there to make your look complete.

Know your signature style

It’s worth noting that this doesn’t necessarily mean you “need” a signature style – some people like to mix and match their styles or even change them frequently (and why not? Keep things interesting). The point is knowing what style or styles are for you. Are you a classic chic or more street? Do you suit 50s glam or 80s funk? You can put hints of this into your style, you don’t have to go all the way in order to make statement. Once you’ve established what looks good on you, you can start working on choosing your glasses frames to match!

Step out of your comfort zone

No-one gets anywhere by staying in their comfort zone. Experiment with your specs, your shoes, your colours and fabrics, and with everything you can. Only with trial and error will you ever really have the chance to discover what style suits you the most! It’s not unusual to discover that your glasses set the tone for the rest of your look.

After all, they are likely to be the first thing people see when they meet you before they notice the rest of your outfit. First impressions matter, make them outstanding specs.

Know your face shape

Just like it matters to get the right size dress, in a cut that suits your body, it matters to get the glasses which match your face shape. And it all starts with knowing what shape you are! Arlo Wolf has a great face shapes online tool where you can determine your face shape and play around with various frames, shapes and styles.. As there are so many styles out there, you can pair your frames with your chosen style, to create a look that is completely unique to you! If you quickly, they are actually offering a multi-deal too, with £15 off the second pair and £30 off the third, though as with anything it’s worth shopping around (once you know your shape of course).

Whatever your taste, you can be sure of one thing; knowledge is power. Do the research and learn what works, and you’ll forever be rocking a great style.

3 Ways to Style Your Winter Coat This Season

From bold prints to classic cuts, we have been spoilt this season with options for our staple winter coats. We all rely on our coats to get us through the frost, snow, wind and rain that winter brings, but practicality doesn’t have to mean plain and boring. The runways have been rife with stunning statement pieces that have got all stylists in a spin. Here are 3 top tips for styling your winter coat this season.

  • Accessorize!

No matter what your dress sense, there are accessories to suit every style this season.

If you prefer a more reserved look and usually opt for classic coats such as the timeless trench, pair it with a stylish designer bag to ooze elegance. In the daytime, opt for a tote bag as they are ideal for throwing everything into whilst running errands! In the evening, style your winter coat with a classic clutch.

If your go-to is a staple denim or leather jacket, accessorize with bright and bold beanie hats and scarves. The pom beanie is everywhere this season, and there is a huge range of colours and knits to suit everyone. Not only will they keep you warm, but they will also keep you on trend too!

  • Be Bold

Prints have made a huge comeback this season. Leopard, zebra, tiger and snake prints have been spotted across the runways. The bolder the better. Yes, for some, it can feel like a tricky task to keep print tasteful not tacky. But don’t be afraid as there are so many ways of incorporating prints into your winter coat style!

If you want to play with this trend without going head to toe in print, style a classic coat with print accessories. This can be anything from sunglasses, hats, bags, scarves and shoes. This season, you are guaranteed to find pretty much anything in animal print.

If you want to make a statement, why not opt for an animal print coat? Victoria Beckham’s AW18 collection championed a fitted leopard print chenille coat and it is simply stunning! There are so many to choose from to suit any budget. Happy shopping!

  • Switch it Up

The winter season is long. We wear our coats every day, and it’s easy to feel like we are in a rut, chucking the same coat on every morning as we are rushing out of the house.

There are ways to switch up your staple coat to create a different look for any occasion. Why not grab a belt from your wardrobe and tie it round the waist? It will completely change the look of your coat, synch you in at the waist and give you an effortlessly feminine silhouette.

Or why not flash some flesh by rolling up the sleeves and showing off your favourite statement jewellery or watch.

No matter what your style, there are so many wonderful winter trends to try this season.

Autumn Winter 2018 – 5 Fashion Looks to Try this Season

It seems like just yesterday I was posting about Spring trends and now here we are, smack in the middle of Autumn-Winter fashion buzz. I personally love both times of the year since there’s much room to experiment in both seasons.

Here, I have curated some Autumn Winter looks for you all, which are inspired by current runway trends and my personal sense of style. Read on and do share how you feel about them!

The Dress-Boots-Jacket Look

As the days get shorter and the weather becomes more chilly, you’ll need outfits that suit both day and night time outings. I’ve created a chic day-to-night look by teaming a floral midi by Hush, with a grey-green military jacket and calf-length boots from the same brand. The layering gives depth to the otherwise casual dress and makes the ensemble suitable for casual and semi-formal events. With an outfit this versatile, you can easily pull off a day-to-night transition by simply redoing your makeup. Sounds good, right?

Pro Tip – Style your hair into soft waves or long curls which look good in ponytails as well as when left open.

The Embroidered-Skirt Sassiness

My second favourite look would be suitable for brunch dates or daytime outings where you need to look casually stylish with minimal effort. Here, I’ve worn an elegant embroidered skirt with a semi-sheer white, full-sleeves blouse, and short blue boots. Everything I’m wearing is by Monsoon, and I love the graceful femininity all their clothes promise.

I have not accessorized much with this outfit to let the statement skirt shine. Keeping it simple yet sassy!

Pro Tip – Wear a bold lip-colour or eye-shadow with this look to make sure that your outfit does not draw attention away from the face.

The Sweater-Culottes Combo

What do you wear when there’s a definitive nip in the air but you still need to look boho chic? Pull out a sweater with culottes to match. For my sweater-culottes combo, I wore a colour-block John Lewis turtleneck with matching orange wide-leg culottes.
This outfit is great for any casual outing where you want to look effortlessly stylish and remain toasty warm. I wore open-toed clogs for an added touch of boho jazz.

Pro Tip – This look is sharp and edgy; you can carry a statement bag if you’re headed someplace fancy in this outfit.

The Autumn Staple Skinny Jeans

Nothing is as autumny as skinny jeans paired with a classic pair of boots. This is a no-fuss look that works every time and can be customized per occasion. I wore a pair of Monsoon denim with brouges to accentuate my legs. I love this minimalist look since it is very versatile – you can team the denim with different kinds of tops, blouses, and sweaters, based on where you’re headed. You can even experiment with accessories and makeup to make this staple look more interesting!

Working with a bold colour jumper is a great way to work a look with jeans

Pro Tip – Try layering in top-wear with this outfit. You can go in for long jackets, windcheaters, or sheer pull-overs even.

Outfit Details:

The Blazer-Scarf Jazz

One of my favourite Autumn Winter look in semi-formal outfits is the blazer-scarf pairing which is always a head-turner. I wore a plum jersey blazer by Joules with straight jeans and brogues. I added on a knitted scarf with a cute star pattern which adds oodles of oomph to it, and also because I love star print.

Though I wore it with jeans, you can experiment with more formal clothing like skirts, dresses, and trousers.  I’d advise against accessorizing heavily with such an outfit or it can get too much.

Pro Tip – Look up interesting ways to style your scarf – that can really up the style quotient of this ensemble.

So now you are all ready to experiment and add that extra style and colour to your Autumn Winter Wardrobe.

7 Denim Styles That You Must Absolutely Own

One piece of clothing that I can never do without is the good old pair of jeans. And it isn’t only me, perhaps every single woman of whatever shape, size and dressing sense, would find it hard to survive without her favorite denim. A well-fitted pair makes you look good and feel awesome, not to mention that it works for every occasion. You can team one with a shimmery top and wear it to the club or create a work-ready look by pairing it with a white shirt and throwing over a jacket. Jeans come in a great range, in different colors, cuts, and styles that can flatter your figure and spice up your wardrobe. When it comes to the checklist of the denim styles that you must have, here are some styles that I would recommend

Straight

Let’s begin with the basics, a straight-cut pair is something that every girl must own. This one style that works for every body type and can be teamed up with different top wear to create different ensembles. Experiment with colors to pep up your look.

Skinny

If a perfect fit is what you go after, then skinny is your pick. Wear this body-hugging style to flaunt your shape. And the best thing about this style is its versatility. Complete the look with sneakers for a casual look or add a pair of pumps to steal the show on a night out.

Distressed

A style that I cannot just do without on my weekends is distressed. They are amazingly comfortable and look cool when worn with a striped tee and strappy heels. Looking like a diva with a pair of torn jeans is surprisingly easy, isn’t it!

Crop

It’s hard to imagine my wardrobe without cropped jeans and I’m sure it’s the same for you too. This is one trendy bottom wear option that you can style in a hundred different ways. Give your footwear extra attention as the right one can elevate your entire look.

Flared

Flaunt a trendy look by stepping out in a flared pair every time you feel dressy. You can play with the length, because a full length pair looks as classy as a cropped one does. This is one style that is sure to fetch you a hundred compliments!

Bootcut

Bootcut is my personal favorite because this one denim trend that will never be out of vogue. The amazing peplum effect on the feet has been in trend since the seventies and has been endorsed by celebrities on more than one occasion.

Cullotes

Source Credit:

Culottes are one addition that I suggest if you love comfort but would not want to compromise on your style quotient. Essentially a wide-legged cropped pair of denim, this is a cut that looks fabulous on all body shapes as it accentuates your waistline.

With the Jeans for Genes Day just around the corner, it’s the right time to revamp your jeans collection and support a cause as well. Check out the amazing denim range at JD Williams to find great choices in a variety of sizes, colors, cuts and styles, all at incredible prices.

5 New Foot Wear Style Recommendations

Summertime calls for a wardrobe spruce up, and one of my favourite ways to add some new magic to my style without spending a bomb, is to invest in new statement sandals and shoes for the season. Footwear can make or break your outfit, and add a whole new dimension to it – after all, a class black dress worn with sneakers has a totally different feel from the same dress worn with strappy gold high heels, or leather ankle boots.

When it comes to high quality, stylish and affordable footwear, Charles & Keith is one of my go-to brands. And so, when I was looking to update my shoe collection this year, that was my first stop. The first pair that caught my eye were the Floral Embroidered Slip Ons. The sheer elegance of the design, combined with the nautical feel and on-trend embroidery motifs, make these shoes look significantly more expensive than they are. The best part about this pair is the versatility – they look ultra-chic with a white jeans and white t-shirt combination but could also be worn on holiday with a swimsuit and kaftan after you’ve frolicked in the pool and want a look that is effortless but put together.

As I was browsing through the Charles & Keith website, the Rope Detail Mules really tickled my fancy. Mules have made a major comeback in the last two years, and with good reason. This updated version of the classic style features rope and fringe detailing, along with a black and white printed block heel, which adds some extra pizzazz to your bottom half. Again, these shoes are extremely versatile and could be paired with a little back dress, or a white shirt and blue jeans ensemble. As if that wasn’t enough, they’re also super comfortable, so you can easily wear them from morning to night without any problems. What more does a girl need?

Now, if you’re on the hunt for a more formal summertime shoe, the Basket Weave Ankle Strap Mules are an ideal option. They’re everything I want in a pair of heels – texture and detail, a heel that is high but not too high, and an ankle strap for support and comfort. Throw these on with a silky slip-style dress, or use them to dress up jeans and t-shirt combination, and you’re good to go!

Another shoe brand that I have been crushing on lately is Moda In Pelle. When I feasted my eyes on the Loello Orange Leather sandals, I knew I had to have them. This pair is perfect for adding a summertime pop of colour to your outfits and can instantly spice up a relatively bland ensemble and become the showstopper. Plus, the adjustable ankle strap and sturdy block heel mean that they are comfortable enough for you to prance around town all day long! I would pair these with a flirty summer dress or wide leg palazzo-style pants, keeping the rest of my outfit simple and letting the shoes do the talking.

If you’re for flats instead of block heels, the Noello style of sandal by Moda in Pelle is an excellent option. I opted for the navy and red colour combination, but they are available in many different hues, including the vibrant pink and orange palette from above. They’re classic, stylish and practical – a rare combination when it comes to footwear. I would pair these with cut-off jeans and white shirt, but the truth is that you can wear them with almost anything in your wardrobe – which makes this pair a winner in my books.

Whatever your style when it comes to footwear, remember that quality is key, and it’s usually worth investing a little bit more to get sturdy, reliable shoes and sandals that will last you a while. Plus, scuffed soles, visible glue and bare threads is never, ever a good look. And remember the famous words of Marilyn Monroe: “Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.” Amen!

How to Create Your Own Stunning Summer Look

Summertime and vacationing are a match made in heaven. This divine combination is may be responsible for our overstuffed wardrobes. Let’s be honest – how many times do we buy clothes, shoes, or accessories thinking, “this will look so good on a beach vacation” or “hey, this outfit will really help beat the heat”? Countless, I’m sure.

But the art to smart shopping and intelligent fashion is having a ready-to-go capsule wardrobe which comprises of essentials that can create multiple looks. You basically curate a set of clothes and accessories that are versatile, stylish, and oh-so-comfy. I have a holiday capsule wardrobe for summer vacationing, most of it comprising clothes and accessories by Hush, which is a lovely brand for summer-wear. Here’s what you’ll find in my capsule wardrobe:

An Embroidered Relax-Fit Top

Loosely-fitted frilly tops are quite in vogue these days. They are particularly suited for summertime vacationing since they do not stick to the body. Also, the long sleeves prevent tanning. You can team such tops with jeans, shorts, and even skirts, which make them a wonderful addition to your holiday capsule wardrobe.

 A Floral Midi

Florals are a spring-summer staple and combined with the flowy goodness of well-fitting midis, they make for the perfect holiday outfit. Casual yet distinctive, floral midis are a comfy outfit when traveling. You can accessorize such an outfit with a large straw hat and big boho hat. I often wear midis to the beach since I can easily wear a swimsuit beneath them.

A Shirt Dress

Shirt dresses are effortlessly chic. I typically pair a shirt dress with sneakers and a belt which add a youthful dimension to the outfit. If you are wary to go down the androgynous path, you can accessorize with long earrings, bracelets and neckpieces. Additionally, go in for dresses in bright colours, to ensure the final effect is cool and summery.

A Pair of Funky Trainers

I simply love funky footwear and nothing looks better than a pair of sneakers with interesting detailing. They are a great choice for summer vacations since you can walk in them all day long, without getting tired. I would recommend getting a pair in a neutral shade that is sure to complement multiple outfits, including evening-wear.

Printed Culottes

Culottes have become oft-worn office attire but in my opinion, they are equally well-suited for casual wear. In fact, I would probably carry a pair of culottes on vacations over jeans since they are more comfortable, and also quite edgy. Printed culottes look even better in matching sets, and a great option for lounging in the hotel or a coffee-shop when vacationing.

A Basket-Style Bag

Hobo bags have been a popular choice for summertime vacationing. But if you want something edgier, more distinctive, a basket-style bag would be an ideal choice. They are roomy, sturdy, and easy to clean. Be it on the beach, the hills, a cab, or a bus, a basket-style bag would be both an asset as a carry-all, and fashion statement as an accessory.

Summer Holiday Look with Aspiga

Summer is finally here, and I could not be more excited! Warm weather means that I can break out the bright colours, floral prints, open toe sandals…the works. But the best part is that I can finally wear fabrics that I don’t get to wear for the rest of the year – textiles like linen, crochet and cotton, to name a few. Cotton, in particular, is one of my go-to fabrics in warm weather – it’s lightweight and breathable, which means that it helps you stay relatively cool when it’s hot outside.

Furthermore, I am a big believer in the ‘less is more’ mantra when it comes to staying cool in warm weather. I love to wear shorts instead of long pants and feel the most comfortable in a loose, soft cotton shirt. The beautiful Camila Cotton Blouse by Aspiga is right up my street. Not only is it made of cotton and has a loose fit that hangs wonderfully off the shoulders (which means that I can stay cool as a cucumber while still looking stylish!); it also has gorgeous detailing to boot.

I decided to pair the blouse with casual, loose fitted shorts. The Marisa Linen Shorts in white caught my eye for this look. Linen is another great fabric to wear in the summer because it’s relatively heat resistant and allows your skin to breathe as well. These shorts were the perfect complement to the embroidered blouse, but you could just as easily pair them with a loose cotton shirt or a printed camisole as well – they are super versatile, stylish and comfortable. What more does a girl need?

Now, when it comes to footwear in the summertime, I love a good strappy sandal. The Komosa Sandal in Coral by Aspiga is a great pair – the nude tones mean that you can pair these sandals with many different kinds of outfits, and the beaded discs give a pop of colour that is perfect for spicing up an all-white outfit or complementing an already-colourful look without being over the top. The best part is that they are handcrafted from leather and of great quality, so they won’t come apart after a couple of wears.

To finish off this ensemble, I needed an oversized bag. I like to opt for large totes in the summertime, because they are great for carrying everything I need, whether it’s for a day out on the town or a trip to the beach, while also being versatile enough to work with different outfits. I instantly gravitated towards the Starfish Jute Beach bag, featuring a subtle embroidered starfish – the embroidery gave the bag an interesting twist without being too overwhelming and taking away from the rest of my outfit.

Outfit Details:

And there you have it, ladies! My ultimate, summertime ensemble. My favourite part about each of these pieces by Aspiga is the sheer quality of the craftsmanship, and the attention to detail in elements like the embroidery and beading – a summertime outfit definitely needs both. If you’re on the hunt for great pieces to sport in warm weather, look no further than Aspiga – you will find some great, one-of-a-kind pieces that will last you for summers to come.

Nailing the Day to Night Outfit  Look with House of Fraser

Cold-shoulder sleeves have taken the fashion industry by storm. I find it to be a beautiful stylistic nuance which complements all body types. I see the number of cold-shoulder tops and dresses increasing in my wardrobe, and it’s a good investment. Cold-shoulders are here to stay and quite possibly may go on to become an evergreen trend like kitten heels or LBDs.

I decided to style a day to night look from the House of Fraser dresses collection which can be easily manipulated by makeup and accessories. I paired a printed cold shoulder dress with wedge heels and delicate jewellery. The dress is from House of Fraser, which is one of my go-to brands for all kinds of clothing and accessories. I spend hours browsing their website for unique pieces like this beautiful daisy dress, and more often than not, end up purchasing more than I intend to!

My shopaholic ways aside, this outfit is a good option for day to night transformations. The dress is chic without being dramatic, which makes it a perfect casual/semi-casual wearable. The wedge heels are comfy and far more convenient to wear than stilettoes or even platform sandals. The edgy three-tiered silver necklace completes the look, adding a touch of quirk to it. I’ve kept the makeup light but sultry, with a dark lip colour and subtle contouring.

The idea here was to create a versatile ensemble using interesting clothes and accessories. The colour and cut of the dress is such that it can be worn casually or even as evening or office-wear. The daisy prints and cold-shoulder sleeves add colour and quirk, thus making it an eye-catchy, distinctive dress. I would typically wear it to a garden party or summer date night, but it can also make do as office-attire if styled intelligently. For an office look, I would wear a statement belt, no accessories, and knotted/ponytailed hair. I would also wear a nude shade of lipstick and skip the contouring if at work. But I wouldn’t change the footwear since black wedges are a blessing in disguise in the office when you have to move about frequently.

What To Do: When planning a day to night outfit transformation, make sure you carry the makeup and accessories that will be needed later. Also, change your hair in the day to night transition, as that dramatically affects that impression your ensemble makes.

What Not To Do: Do not forget to re-do your makeup when transiting from your day to night look. You can highlight the lips and cheekbones for your evening look and focus on the eyes for the day or office ensemble. Also, avoid wearing too many accessories which can make the transformation tedious and time-consuming.

I have a lot of clothes from the quintessentially House of Fraser collection which are ideal for both day and evening events. What about you? How do you create ensembles that are versatile without being dull and boring? Do share!

Capsule Summer Wardrobe with FatFace

Summertime travel is so inspiring. This year, I decided to vacation at Bath, and lo and behold, my fashion senses were tingling. Here I have put together a few of my favourite looks to share with you all, from the looks created with FatFace. For me these outfits are basically summer essential clothes and accessories which, if fashioned intelligently, can create a versatile capsule wardrobe that’s handy for work and vacations alike!

Let’s look at some of these outfits.
1. The first look is an ode to the fabulous femininity of a sun-kissed diva. I wore a colourful FatFace midi dress, with a kaleidoscope print in warm, bright colours. I teamed it with flat, tan sandals by Salt-Water, and a sleeved denim jacket by Tasha. I accessories with a wide-brimmed straw-hat and completed the look with light makeup.

This ensemble is perfect for a day outing where chances of sun-exposure are high. The hat and jacket-sleeves prevent excessive tanning while the light-weighted dress and sandals keep you blissfully cool. I would recommend it for picnics, brunches, and if you’re on holiday, day-time sightseeing.

Outfit Details:

2. My second ensemble is simple, yet chic – a fine sartorial choice for casual to semi-formal dressing. I teamed a stiped white-and grey dress with the tan Salt-Water flats and pair of brown-tinged aviators. The flared shape of the dress and hip pockets give it a semi-formal look, while the open-toed, strappy sandals prevent the ensemble from being too professional.

I would happily wear this outfit to an afternoon brunch with work buddies, or perhaps even an event at my son’s school. With such a combination, the possibilities are endless! Here I have teamed this dress with a jeans jacket to give.

Outfit Details:

3. My final outfit is more of a casual office look. I wore a pair of navy Copper & Black culottes having a knotted belt, side and back pockets, and a relaxed fitting. In terms of top wear, I chose a striped, cutwork blouse with ruffle detailing and scalloped trim hem. Black block wedge heels completed the look, which is sophisticated and professional without being strictly formal.

It’s the kind of outfit I like to wear to the office on the day I know is either going to be long or somewhat relaxed, like a Friday.

The brilliance of having a summer capsule wardrobe is that you can travel for pleasure or work purposes without too much baggage. Additionally, if you don’t have too much time to dress in the morning, your seasonally appropriate ensembles are well-arranged to just a put-on and go. Sounds great, doesn’t it? Go ahead and build your own capsule wardrobe too!

Jeans Jacket – Evergreen Fashion Trend

The humble jean jacket was a wardrobe staple in the ‘80s and the 90s, and has now made a comeback in a very big way. With our favourite fashion icons such as Gigi Hadid, Selena Gomez, and Rihanna rocking the jean jacket, new wardrobe goals are set and we must stock up on such denim goodness asap!

Like most fashion trends that make a comeback, the good old jean jacket is now available in a host of new avatars. There are numerous ways to sport the trend, depending on your personal style. But if you’re new to it, you may want to start out with the classic full-sleeved jean jacket. It is perhaps the easiest to style, given its inherent minimalism. You can wear it with jeans, skirts, shorts, and even dresses.

One of my oft-worn look with jean-jackets is a denim-on-denim ensemble. The trick to style such an outfit successfully is playing around with colours, wash, and detailing, to add depth to the look. As you can see in the picture below, I’ve teamed a light jean-jacket with deep blue ripped jeans and a fuchsia top. The variance in the top and bottom denim fabric adds balance to the ensemble and prevents the outfit from looking too unidimensional.

I also love sleeveless denim jackets which can jazz up summer outfits in such a charming way. Simply put one on over a dichromatic ensemble like I have, and it’ll add much oomph to a simple outfit. As you may notice, there’s something rather youthful about sleeveless jean jackets – they can have you looking many years younger if styled intelligently.

But if you are more experimental and have a penchant for the eclectic, try teaming up a jean jacket with a dress.  You can see that I’ve paired a full-sleeved, loosely-fitted jacket with black dress that has gold detailing. Bright, funky earrings and flat boots complete the outfit. The combination of the feminine, flowy dress with the rugged jacket and boots creates an interesting look that is bold and striking. Such an ensemble is ideal for a picnic or casual day outing. If you have an embellished jacket, you can even consider the dress-and-jean-jacket look for a night-out or small party.

In conclusion, my only advice is that when it comes to jean jackets, don’t be afraid to play around with different looks. They are wonderfully versatile and will be a staple in your closet soon enough. So go grab some, and start experimenting!

Jackets as a Styling Accessory

As the weather changes and we slip into sunny Spring after a chilling Winter, wardrobe rearrangement is in order. The warmer clothes need to be pushed to the farther nooks and crannies; lighter, brighter clothes need to come forth!

I was in the midst of such wardrobe shuffling when I realized that no matter what the weather is like, jackets never go “out of season”. They are worn in some capacity or the other, all year ‘round. In wintertime, they serve a more functional purpose of course. But for the rest of the year, jackets are a great accessory to jazz up outfits in many, many ways.

Statement jacket #jacketlove #jacketseason #fashionbloggerTake, for instance, the Spring or Summer-time jacket styles. Printed jackets, denim jackets, and statement styles fit in wonderfully with many kinds of ensembles. I often team up light, printed jackets with casual jeans in the beginning of Spring, when there’s still some chill in the air. The best part is, I can experiment with different kinds of prints (floral, ethnic, geometric, and so on) and colours to fashion outfits according to the occasion.

I also sport denim jackets quite often – they are just so versatile. Light and customizable, jean jackets are great partners to casual and semi-formal outfits. Personally, my favourite look is a sleeveless denim jacket teamed with a skirt or even as a pair of shorts or jeans.

But even as one may not be a jacket aficionado like me, everyone should own at least one statement jacket. Statement jackets are natural head-turners and add glamour to the simplest outfits. I have a fancy indigo statement jacket with white and pink floral motifs. Trust me, I get complimented each time I head out in this fabulous number. Other interesting statement jacket styles include sequined jackets, tie-and-dye styles, and if you’re one for the classics, biker-chic leather jackets too. The trick to finding the perfect statement piece is making sure it’s true to your personal style. I you like bling, go for a sequined one. If you prefer fusion styles, go for embroidered pieces, embellished Nehru jackets, or tie-and-dye styles.

If you’re still not convinced about how wonderfully jackets blend into every season’s fashionable best, consider the raincoat. Raincoats – or rather their trendy cousin windcheaters – are great to wear in the rainy season. You can use them as a shield against the downpour and look the sartorial picture of perfection at casual outings. Similarly, for the winter season, you have the ever-green puffer jacket. These quilted pieces assure warmth and elegant stylistics, all at the same time. In fact, I have numerous puffer jackets in different colours and detailing, and am always on the lookout for more!

But aside from my personal love for jackets, from a stylist’s perspective too, they are fantastic accessories; add a jacket to your simple ensemble and it transforms into a fashionable statement that never goes unnoticed. This is why I think that my growing collection of jackets is not a problem. It’s an investment; an investment is effortlessly chic dressing, all through the year!

Let’s Bring Some Wedding Magic To Life, Your Perfect Gift To Make Those Memories Last Forever

When it comes to beautiful jewellery, Links London is one of my favourite brands, for their unique designs, dedication to craftsmanship and commitment to using the finest materials, and when I laid my eyes on their new wedding collections, I fell in love, and truthfully, the pieces took me back to my own special day as well.

Your wedding is one of the most important moments in your life – not only because of the beautiful union that marriage entails, but also, because of the people who are present in the moment. The happiness that you feel in celebrating your special day with loved ones is incomparable, and the memories last forever. For a bride, the ladies by her side – her bridesmaids on the big day – are some of the most important people at the wedding. And what better way to remind them of your love and appreciation for them, than with a gift that will always be associated with the memories of the wedding? And that’s where Links London comes into play.

Their wedding series features gorgeous pieces of jewellery that would make the perfect bridesmaid gift (or if you’re a bridesmaid, the perfect bridal gift!). In the run-up to wedding season, I decided to bring some wedding magic to life and choose three of my favourite pieces from the collection to style into a chic bridesmaid look.

The first pieces that caught my eye were the Sterling Silver and Blue Diamond Stud Earrings. I loved these for their subtle sophistication – the hint of the blue and O-shaped style of the earrings makes them different from classic studs and allows them to be dressy enough to wear at a formal event like a wedding. And after the wedding is over, you can continue to wear them out and about – whether it’s for a brunch date with your girlfriends (to catch up on wedding details!), or even, to work. I chose to pair the earrings with Hope necklace in silver – another simple piece that complements a wedding ensemble in an elegant way.

Finally, for some arm candy, I chose the Diamond Cuff in silver. I loved the open style of this cuff and the fact that you can wear it on its own, or layer it with other bracelets or your watch. Either way, it looks beautiful on the wrist and is very comfortable to wear.

Of course, when you have jewellery this beautiful, you must wear the pieces with an outfit that is equally gorgeous. For this bridesmaid look, I wore a lovely floor-length dress. The jewellery pieces pulled the entire look together, creating the perfect bridesmaid ensemble – simple, sophisticated and subtle. This outfit took me back to happy, fun-filled memories of some of my best friends’ weddings and now, I am eager for a wedding to come up so that I can recreate this look again!

The Links London wedding series features many more products, including the Narrative Cuff, which can be engraved, the Sweetie collection, where you can add charms to the pieces and the Splendour collection which features beautiful jewellery pieces a four-point star motif. Whether you’re looking to gift something special to a bride-to-be or to your favourite ladies who are going to be your bridesmaids, you don’t need to look any further than Links London for the perfect piece of jewellery that will capture memories to last a lifetime.

5 Fashion Lessons from Cannes 2018

The Cannes Film Festival has the crème de la crème of the glamour industry sashay down red carpets in their sartorial best year after year. Cannes 2018 was exactly that, and so much more. For a fashion monger and trend hawk, this event is an annual delight. There’s so much to observe and learn; the to-do’s and the never-ever are all on ready display.

Here are my top fashion lessons from Cannes 2018:

1. Styling Florals for a Formal Event
Florals are typically associated with day-time casual and semi-formal dressing. But Amber Heard and Thandie Newtown showed us how to pull off florals at a formal mega-event such as Cannes. While actress Amber wore lovely Valentino gown with a bell-shaped floral bodice, British beauty Thandie wowed in her Vivienne Westwood off-shoulder gown sporting the house’s “Absence of Roses” print.

What we learnt – When wearing florals to a formal do, go for outfits in delicate fabrics such as silk, satin, and georgette. The more distinctive the silhouette, the better.

2. Sheer Beauty with Sheer Outfits
Wearing sheer clothing is rather tricky, even for celebrities. Striking the right balance between elegance and provocativeness is no small task. Deepkia Padukone nailed it at the premiere of Sorry Angel, wearing a white Zuhair Murad gown with netted detailing. Model and reality TV star Kendall Jenner pushed the envelope further in a bold, layered Schiaparelli gown which accentuated her lean figure.

What we learnt – Sheer outfits are statements by themselves. Best to keep the hair and makeup simple, to avoid the look being too over-the-top.

3. Taking “Red Hot” a Step Further
The “Red Hot” outfit has become a common sight, especially on international red carpets. This time, several celebs added oomph to their red outfits in very interesting ways. Irina Shayk stole the show in her sultry, hip-baring Versace gown at one of the events. The antithesis to this look, but equally impressive, was Julianne Moore’s outfit at the opening ceremony – a simple Givenchy gown, with a beautiful tasseled train.

What we learnt – Styling red intelligently is important if you want to stand out. Layered stylistics, embellishments, and cut-work are few of the fashion-forward choices for the “Red Hot” look.

4. Nailing the Princess Look
Princess-gowns are a girl’s childhood fantasies come alive. But it challenging to carry such clothing well, without looking misplaced at a high-brow event. Sonam Kapoor showed us how it’s done her skin-toned couture gown by Vera Wang, at the Star Wars movie premiere. Similarly, Bella Hadid aced the princess look in a flowy, golden-beige Zuhair Murad gown at the Ash Is The Purest White premiere.

What we learnt – Uber-feminine gowns with typical princess silhouettes need to be styled well to avoid looking awkward. Like Sonam and Bella did, keep the makeup and hair classic-elegant, to steal the limelight in a good way.

5. Looking Confident Under Invasive Scrutiny
At events where the fashion police is a dime a dozen, and the press is relentlessly invasive, the attitude is as important as the outfit. Confidence is key. Canadian model Winnie Harlow walked the red carpet with the panache of a veteran in her eye-ball grabbing, green Ralph and Russo gown. Indian actress and Cannes debutant Kangana Ranaut also held her own in a series of gorgeous outfits, especially the beaded, silver jumpsuit by Nedret Taciroglu she wore to a Friday event.

What we learnt – If you have it, own it! Being a fashionable diva is all about carriage. So keep your head high and you’re sure to make an impression.

Celebrating Specials Moments with Glitter and Glam

As I celebrated the 6th Anniversary of FashionForRoyals, I can reflect back and say that over the years I have grown along with my blog, and have met and made many new friends through social media. To celebrate this point, I decided to treat myself with a little gleam and shine – yes, you guessed it – some lovely sterling silver jewellery!

I got myself a ring, a bracelet, and a beautiful neckpiece by Links of London. This British brand has created a niche for itself in the international luxury market, and I’m loving their refreshing take on modern jewellery. Their innovative combination of classic styles and British eccentricities makes them very distinctive. And as you probably know, I’m all about unique, striking designs.

Jewellery Featured:

The pieces I got are from their Splendour collection. I got myself sterling silver jewellery, but you also have the option of rose gold vermeil, 18K gold vermeil, and diamond-studded ornaments to choose from in the collection.

I think these delicate feminine pieces will go well with any summer spring outfit. The delicate yet eye-catchy jewellery compliments any ensemble; perfect for a daytime event.

The four-edged star motif is modish and chic, though surprisingly inspired by the intricate star patterns that adorn cathedrals. Stars are a major trend this season which makes the ring, the bracelet, and the necklace fashion-forward choices to sport right now. What I love about such jewellery is that it complements the ongoing industry trends but has a special charm of its own. Whether stars be trending or not, I expect to wear these lovely pieces all year round.

Even from a purely sartorial perspective, my new acquisitions are quite a smart choice. These pieces are light enough to be worn to work or casual affairs. At the same time, they add instant oomph to any outfit which makes them great dinner-date or party accessories. The versatility of the Splendour collection is one of the key selling points and if you love them jewels too, some Links of London jewellery could be a great addition to your collection!

I think the Splendour collection is a great choice to celebrate key moments in life with glitter and glam. I would highly recommend them as a great gift choice for happy occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, and all kinds of personal and professional successes. That is the exact reason that I decided to commemorate 6 years of the blog with jewellery from the Splendour collection – it seems to be a perfect match for my celebratory mood!

Say Hello to Spring in Style

Say Hello to Spring in Style

With the Spring-spun bonanza of merry sunshine, blooming flowers, and fresh fragrances comes an endless stream of sartorial inspiration. I love experimenting with trending Spring styles and try to incorporate my personal fashion preferences into every look. Here’s a list of my favourite Spring trends – read on for some Spring-fashion winners!

Frills Dress

Outfit Featured from Very.co.uk

The youthful vibrancy of frilly clothing is a perfect match to Spring-time merriment. Though some ladies avoid frilly clothing, fearing it may have them looking silly, if you style them right, rocking those frills is a cake walk. For my Spring frills look, I teamed up a black frilly dress with flat leather boots and statement earrings. The dark color of the dress and the minimalist accessorizing created an outfit that’s perfect for day outings as well as evening events. The final effect is cheery and youthful; perfectly reflecting the Spring season’s glory.

Jeans Jacket

Outfit Featured from Fatface.com

I love denim fabric and when in jacket-form, it’s even more delectable. Jeans jackets have made a comeback this season, and I’m loving it! You can wear jeans jackets as comfy accessories to dresses, jeans, shorts, and skirts. My go-to style is pairing a sleeveless jeans jacket with a printed dress or skirt to add depth to the outfit. The contrast of uber-feminine clothes with rugged denim accessories is bold, beautiful, and great for the inner-boho-diva in you.

Culottes

Culottes are Spring-fashion’s favourite child. They never go out of fashion and re-invent themselves year after year. Casual and comfy, culottes are a great option for daytime outings and informal evening dos. You can go in for printed or embroidered culottes for charming, feminine ensemble. For a more bold, androgynous look, go in for dark-hued, plain or striped pieces. Pair them with fitted tops for a morning outing and jumpers/jackets for evening-wear.

Star Print

Outfit Featured from Hush-uk.com

Floral motifs are Spring staples, but this year, the stars have taken over! The star print is trending and I’m all for it. In my starry look, I’m sporting a grey jumper with a huge star applique on the front. But there’s are loads of other options to choose from. Small-starry prints are great for flowy dresses and strappy blouses. Mid-sized colourful prints are great for quirky top and bottom wear. Large or single-print stars (like the one on my jumper) create a striking yet casual statement effortlessly. So find your kind of star print and have some fun with it!

Jeans with Statement Lining

Jeans from Hush-Uk.com

One would think that innovating with jeans is something of a lost cause. Everything’s been done, from funky colours and cuts, to embellishments and rips. But there’s a new trend brewing and it’s statement lining. The lining on jeans’ sides have become head-turning stylistics this Spring season. I’m wearing a pair with darkened and chafed lining for a casual, chic look. I’ve spotted several other interesting statement lining styles too. Beaded, pearl lining looks wonderful, as do embroidered and sequined linings. I’m sure to pick up some more denim with statement lining soon. What about you?

Floral Headbands

Outfit from Monsoon.com
Outfit from Monsoon.com

In the accessories department, one of the fascinating trends is of the floral headband. While a few years, floral motifs were a go-to for Spring clothes, shoes, and bags, they’re now oft used in hair accessories too. Floral headbands are a feminine quick-fix for any outfit. Yes, they’re not the easiest to pull off, but channel your inner princess and you’re good to go. I’ve worn floral headbands to daytime outings such as brunches and picnic. But you could also experiment with them as party accessories.

Belted Suits

If you’re wondering about some desi trends for this Spring season, I feel belted suits are quite charming. Blending a traditional style with western stylistics perfectly captures the essence of the modern woman. Team up a classic leather belt with a floor-length kurta and watch the magic happen! This fusion look is sure to win you many compliments, as it did for me. I wore a brown twisted-leather belt with a blue, printed kurta and matching dupatta. The brilliant sunshine and noontime beauty was the perfect accessory to my elegant belted suit.

Statement Jackets

Jackets are a great accessory all year ‘round. But wear them in Spring season and you’re bound to invite a lot of attention. I prefer to wear jackets that are off-beat in their stylistics – that makes you stand out from the crowd. I have a whole section of my wardrobe just for jackets and have put them to good use to beat the Spring-time chills. I’ve enjoyed wearing long printed jackets, short embroidered ones, and also some sleeveless styles. The point is to use jackets as elegant accessories to an otherwise simple ensemble. Yes, they bring the jazz to the outfit!

Crop Tops

Top From Whistles
Top From Whistles

Crop tops have arrived in a big, big way. They have been topping the chic charts since last year and Spring is just the time to whip them out. Ending just below the abdomen, allowing scintillating peeks at the midriff, crop tops can be fashioned to suit all kinds of looks for almost any occasion. Since summer has not hit us yet, I’ve been wearing longer crop-tops that do not expose the belly yet. They look great with jeans and skirts, and effortlessly stylish no matter what the occasion is.

Floral Prints

This is most certainly a no-brainer. Spring fashion and florals are a match made in heaven. Floral prints are one of those classic styles that I never want to shun. I love the delicate femininity that such motifs bring out in all kinds of clothing. While wearing floral tops, bottoms, and dresses, is rather familiar, if you want to experiment, go ahead and put on some floral accessories. Wear floral scarves, jackets, or even socks. You could also sport handbags, clutches, and hats with floral prints, to try something new. Simply put, if it’s springtime, you can’t go wrong with floral prints.

Statement Shoes

Shoes from Hotter.com
Shoes from Franchetti Bond

Nothing says fashion-forward like a pair of well-crafted shoes. If you want to make a statement with your Spring attire, make sure to stock up on some beautiful statement pieces that are hard to miss. I’ve got myself a pair of floral-print sneakers which perfectly complement my casual outfits. I’ve also been wearing a pair of silver brogues quite often, on account of their versatility. They go with casual as well as formal outfits and are quite the eyeball grabber, I must say. If you, too, want to Spring to be a fashion feast for you, do stock up on some statement shoes this season. You’ll not regret it!

So, here I’ve listed out my most favoured Spring trends. How about you lovely ladies? What have you been wearing in Spring 2018? Do share!

Floral Fusion Spring Look

It’s that time of the year again! Spring is here and mother nature many beautiful sights in store for us. Each morning, the sun’s rays caress the blooming flowers around us, adding to their wondrous beauty. And we find ourselves rejuvenated and happy all day long, partaking in the wonders of Springtime.

I personally love the Spring season. I love the freshness in the air, crisp and fragrant with the scent of flowers. But what I love even more is that I have the perfect excuse to push back the winter clothing in my wardrobe and bring out the cheery florals that complement the vibe of this season.

This is one of my floral fusion spring summer looks. I have styled a georgette A-line dress with chintz floral motifs with a belt and romantic, curly tresses. The dress has a striking boat neckline, boxed pleats at the waist, and numerous shades of blue. My favourite addition is the teal, chiffon dupatta which adds to the flowy, softness of the attire.

Since I love Indo-western fusion outfits, such an ensemble is a go-to option for me in Springtime.  For this look, I have taken a more boho-chic approach to creating an outfit that fuses Indian and western sensibilities. However, you can style the dress differently for a more formal and sharp look. You can have your hair styled in a more structured up-do and carry an embroidered clutch to create a semi-formal look. In fact, the versatility of the dress is such that you can style it in multiple ways for different purposes and occasions.

I quite enjoy styling the same clothes differently each time using different accessories, hair, and makeup. Dresses such as this one allow you ample room to experiment and stylize innovatively. They allow you to wear your suit as traditional attire, a boho-chic outfit, or even as a western dress. The more such multi-purpose clothes you have in your wardrobe, the more you are able to innovate and experiment.

Over the years, I have learnt how to transform the same clothes into outfits for different occasions and sensibilities. It comes in handy if you’re trying to be a controlled shopaholic! And with this dress added to my collection, it will become easier to resist spending on multiple other floral outfits.

So that’s my plan for this Spring season; to style my suits and dresses intelligently, and create varied looks. What about you
