Now, it’s a touchy subject, but we’re diving straight in. Thigh chafing. Unless you happen to be one of those rare women with that unattainable thigh gap, it’s only natural that our thighs will rub slightly when we walk. Of course, summer calls for little dresses, meaning that as we walk and, let’s face it, sweat, our skin-on-skin thigh chafing can get very uncomfortable indeed. We’ve come up with five alternatives to summer dresses that’ll leave your inner-thighs as comfortable and smooth as ever, and there’s no need for tights or leggings with every single outfit.
Bicycle shorts
No, we’re not suggesting that you just go out in bicycle shorts. We’re suggesting that you wear them underneath longer skirts and dresses. If you pick the right fabric, they’ll work to keep you cool, and they may even suck in and smooth over any lumps and bumps you’ve got going on.
Cigarette trousers
Cigarette trousers work with every figure and are a great summer alternative to dresses and skirts. Go for a lighter fabric to keep you cool, and cropped trousers always look super chic and are perfect for the warmer weather.
Jumpsuits and playsuits
Jumpsuits and playsuits are super summery and gorgeous. Depending on how much leg you want or don’t want to bare, you can either go for super short playsuits or a full-length jumpsuit. Just remember that if you opt for a jumpsuit, keep the fabric light and soft so you feel wonderfully summery.
Skorts
If you basically want to wear a skirt but are afraid of your thighs chafing, skorts can really work wonders. This skirt/short combo means that it looks like you’re wearing a skirt, but you have the inner-thigh protection of shorts. Perfect! Genius!
Chiffon trousers
Lightweight and flowing fabrics such as chiffon are absolutely perfect for summer. Chiffon trousers are great for achieving that flowing dress or skirt look while protecting your thigh skin. Wide leg lightweight cotton works well, too, but doesn’t flow in the breeze in quite the same way.
