London Fashion Week AW16 – Outfit Details #OOTD

Finally, the wait is over and I am incredibly excited to share my London Fashion Week outfits with all of you.

This year’s, London Fashion Week was held from the 19th to the 23rd of February and I attended the first three days. Needless to say, it was an extremely busy weekend, filled with several fashion shows and a lot of travelling across London, but it was totally worth it!London Fashion Week Day 2 - AW16 6As always, February is a very cold month in London and it was much more windy that I had anticipated (you will see what I mean as you see my #ootd pictures!) so it was important that I stay fashionable and cosy.

Day 1

The first day of London Fashion Week was pleasant, but breezy. I attended a special movie screening at the 20th Century Fox Studio in Soho as well, which made it a very long day, but that is nothing new for a Friday night in London is it, apologies I was so busy the first day running around, I actually missed taking lots of pics of my outfit, so typical of me TBH and the one below is the one from my iPhone courtesy a nice friendly person at one of the events. You can find all the outfit details below to see what I wore this day.London Fashion Week Day 1 -AW16Outfit details:

Day 2London Fashion Week Day 2 - AW16 5Having been more fashion conscious than practical and walking around in heels on the first day of London Fashion Week, I was ready to give my aching feet a well-deserved rest. I was so glad that I had remembered to pack my flat Aldo shoes! I always make sure that I pack at least one pair of flat shoes when I travel, especially when I am going to be on my feet all day long. London is all about walking, whenever I travel to London I love taking lazy strolls around, its such a place that you never grow out of it. The day started out rather pleasant, but ended with buckets on rain. In fact, I had to duck into a hotel for lunch to simply find some cover. London Fashion Week Day 2 - AW16 4London Fashion Week Day 2 - AW16

But overall a good day with lots of running around in rain and attending shows. But you know what however busy I am, I will always find time to take a coffee break. I am addicted to coffee trying to reduce my intake but you know what I love it still. Below is a pic from my stop to Nero!London Fashion Week Day 2 - AW16 - 2 7Outfit Details

My final day in London had arrived, but I have no doubt that I will be back soon! The day started out rather cold, or at least, I felt that way, so I slipped into a big jacket to stay cosy. I was really happy that the weather warmed up later in the day, and as the sun came out, I found myself in my groove and having fun as usual.London Fashion Week Day 3 - AW16 - 6London Fashion Week Day 3 - AW16 - 2We visited the London Bridge, Westminster Abbey and finally, Tate Britain. Strolling around the galleries is definitely one of my favourite things to do in London. This day definitely reminded me of my love for London – it is one of my favourite cities in the world and a place where I truly feel at home. I can’t wait to be back!London Fashion Week Day 3 - AW16 - 3Outfit Details –

OOTD: Trend Alert, Rocking the Sleeveless Jacket

Hi All!

It’s been a while since I’ve given you a peek into my wardrobe essentials for this season. So I decided to put up an Outfit post where you can see what my favourite look is these days.

Sleeveless Jacket-4

Off late, I have been very partial to sleeveless jackets. This is the latest trend to hit the work-wear section and boy, am I loving it or what! I think these lovely tailored jackets are effortlessly trendy and can make even a simple outfit look like million bucks. With just one simple add on to your regular office outfit, you can reinvent and create new looks. The versatility of sleeveless jackets is sure to have them topping the fashion charts for a while.

Sleeveless Jacket-3

If you’re slightly unsure of how to carry off a sleeveless jacket, here is some inspiration. I have styled my work-wear outfit donning a neutral-hued sleeveless jacket over a simple, black trouser. I’ve put on a black pullover underneath to highlight the jacket and teamed them with classic black pencil heels.

Sleeveless Jacket-2

While the point was to extol the sleeveless jacket here, on a side note, I have to say – I personally think we should all have at least one pair of perfectly fitted black trousers, an elegant black knit /shirt and some beautiful black heels in our wardrobes for sure. In fact, I have 4 black bottoms and 5-6 different style black tops, just for office-wear!

That aside, I hope you like my Outfit post and fall in love with long, sleeveless jackets the way that I have! How do you feel about them? Share your opinion – I’d love to hear from you!

London Winter Day Out – Outfit Post #OOTD

Hello All,

With a lot of you asking for the outfit details of what I wore to Aashni&Co Wedding Show, I decided to do a full breakdown you.

Winter Day Out Outfit London
Winter Day Out Outfit London (4)

I wore a black lace dress because I wanted a look that exuded a sort of classic elegance. I teamed it with black suede shoes and added some bling with a gold sequin clutch. Bear in mind that it was really cold that weekend – almost 4 or 5 degrees Celsius – and so I wore my favourite coat as well. The final touch was a glittery hair band which kept my tresses in place and complemented the outfit.

Here are the details of the outfit:

  1. Black Lace Dress – Oasis Stores
  2. Gold Sequin Bag – Oasis Stores
  3. black coat – French Connection
  4. Black Suede Shoes – Dune
  5. Hair band – Accessorise

An Affair with Marks & Spencer, London

I’ve been an M&S fan for as long as I can remember. I simply love their high couture fashion and on-trend collections. I have shopped around in M&S stores in India a lot, and now in UK as well. My first visit to Marks & Spencer Marble Arch Store this week, had me in complete awe. I felt spoilt for choice when it came to selecting something from their On Trend Collection. I digress, but Marks & Spencer always has a very appealing stock which guarantees expert tailoring. You can rarely go wrong when it comes to their selection of styles!Marks and Spencer Style Post- Geometric

Marks and Spencer Style Post - Geometric 2
One prominent trend visible in M&S’s current collection was geometry-inspired styles. That is not surprising for the red carpet has seen a lot of such cutting-edge geometrical prints in the recent past. Naturally, celebrity fashion has caused this particular trend to trickle down to the masses. Catwalk couture has made bold, elegant geometrical prints, teamed with contrast-panelled jackets/skirts, the effortlessly-chic-look of the season. Pairing computer calculated patterns with figure-hugging miniskirts has also been a hugely popular trend, both on & off the ramp. And that’s not all; of late, geometrical prints with bright, contrasting colours, worn with structured jackets, are being deemed the chicest attire. Since this trend has been garnering wonderful response from the fashion police, I thought I really must experiment with it too, and M&S was perhaps the best place to start!

It is a sophisticated outfit which is striking no doubt, yet very much on trend as well. I have styled this top with a slim black trouser and matching pair of platform shoes. I chose to wear platform shoes for they are easy to walk in; the perfect choice when I know I will be taking long strolls in beautiful parks. I accessorized with a silver statement necklace in geometric design to add glamour to the whole look.Marks and Spencer Style Post - Geometric 4

The visit to Woolacombe Hotel for afternoon tea with friends was a nice, relaxing touch to the day. You can donn this (don this) effortlessly chic look for office too, or style it with accessories for it to work as an office-to-night look.Marks and Spencer Style Post - Geometric 5

What to Wear at an Indian Wedding – Outfit of the Day (#OOTD) – Bridesmaid / Friend of the Bride Look

With the festive season in full swing, I thought I should share an outfit perfect  for  all the pretty bridesmaids or friends of the bride out there.
So, here’s my personal favourite bridesmaid look for you all pretty girls out there, who are looking for simple and effortless style!
Bridesmaid Outfit

Admit it, it’s hard work being a bridesmaid – you have to do a lot of  running around, help the bride, keep nerves under control and much, much more. But if you’re going to be doing all of this, you need an outfit fit for the job. In my opinion, a bridesmaid’s outfit should look effortlessly chic. It should keep you warm if the wedding is outside, but also have loads of oomph despite its functional value.

One of my favourite styles for a bridesmaid outfit is the Anarkali suit. Anarkalis have been in style for a few years now, and trust me, they are here to stay. The reasons for this are obvious – these timeless flared beauties are striking, dressy and easy to carry around as well.

The outfit above is from Reeth Coventry (one of my go-to shops for ethnic clothes in UK).

Outfit of the Day – Clothes Show Live Day 2 – Dec 5, 2015 #OOTD #ClothesShow

I wanted to show you what I wore today as I love the dress I wore to the event a lot and it’s one of my favourite buys this season and I was in fact waiting for a good day to wear it on. I actually stopped in my tracks when I saw it.

ClothesShow Live 2015

Love the fit and flare of the dress which is a very flattering fit for most of the body types.

I paired it with a long cardigan from Marks & Spencers in Same colour, as its winters. The burgundy colour leggings add a bit of colour to the whole look and the black boots add a bit of length and day glamor to the outfit.

ClothesShow Live 2015 - 2

You can easily wear it with transparent stockings and high heels for an evening look.
