Remedies to Hair Fall, I have tried and tested.

Hair fall is everyone’s nightmare and its effects tend to creep up and make us feel low. I have suffered from this too, and fortunately, there are plenty of remedies – DIY and store-bought, that have helped me overcome this stressful phase. Here are some steps that helped me to get stronger, luscious locks.

1. Aloe Vera Pulp and Coconut Oil Mask:

This emulsification of aloe vera and coconut oil is a wonder for all hair problems. Aloe vera has similar composites to those of keratin, that coax damaged hair cells to rejuvenate, gain elasticity and prevent breakage. Coconut oil stimulates hair growth and is a natural conditioner.

2. Hot Oil Massage:

This age-old and easy home remedy provides remarkable results. Massaging hot oil into your scalp increases blood flow, hair growth,  strength and elasticity, and prevents hair fall. And there are many options if you are less inclined to using popular coconut oil. For instance, vitamin E in almond oil is great to make your locks strong and shiny and olive oil is known to repair and nourish every strand of damaged hair.

3. Hair Masks: L’Oréal Paris Deep Nourishing Creambath Hair Spa

Hair fall can often be predicted by deteriorating finer and lifeless tresses. The L’Oréal Paris Deep Nourishing Creambath Hair Spa comes highly recommended for dry and damaged hair. A generous smear of this water lily induced mask once a week produced visibly nourished, shinier and healthier results for my hair.

4. Back to Basics: Maria Nila Head & Hair Heal Shampoo and Conditioner

Maria Nila Head & Hair Heal

When my problem with hair fall became almost uncontrollable, I turned to this champion duo of shampoo and conditioner. In addition to healthy ingredients like aloe vera and vitamin E, it also contains oleanolic acid, a botanical extract which fights free radicals that kill growth cells and stimulates healthy growth.

5. Moroccanoil Treatment:

Moroccanoil treatment

This product has been on the market for years and is a favourite of hairdressers, stylists, and advisers. The key ingredient, argan oil conditions the scalp for healthier hair growth, reduces breakage by giving elasticity and strength to hair strands and reduces frizz for more manageable and soft hair.

6. Sugar Bear Gummies:

Hair Vitamins

I was equally skeptical and intrigued by these vitamin supplements. But the chewy, sweet, berry flavoured, candy-like vitamin gummies are a delight to eat and a boost for hair growth. The main ingredients include biotin, folic acid and Vitamin D that help to thicken hair, grow healthier hair cells and create new follicles, respectively.

7. A Healthier Lifestyle:

Stating quite the obvious, but I realised that there is no product or treatment in the world – natural or otherwise, that could substitute for a well-balanced diet including my daily five, minimum intake of two liters of water, and eight hours of good sleep, because they equally affect hair as they do other vital organs of the body. I’ve also learned that I do not need to style or put my hair through treatments as often as I have in the past. And even if I do, I always make sure to use treatment protection to curb the damage as much as possible.

My hair feels stronger and shinier and definitely less damaged and lifeless. But everyone has different experiences, so please feel free to share your remedies so we can all learn from each other.

L’Oreal White Perfect Magic White Double Brightening Eye Cream Review

Hi All!

Today I’m reviewing this under-eye cream I’ve been using for over a month now. It’s the Double Brightening Eye Cream from L’Oreal’s White Perfect Magic White range.

Loreal-Eye-Cream

I’ll begin by stating why I chose this product. Firstly, of course, I have dark circles. It’s a combination of genetics and not enough sleep that has caused these shadows under my eyes. I’ve had them for years and use Concealer on special nights when I’m going out. But I am constantly on the lookout for more permanent solutions and thus keep trying various products. The second reason is that L’Oreal is a trusted brand that has quite a reputation when it comes to skin products. So, when this came out, I thought, let’s give this a shot too!

It comes in a shiny, blue and white tube with a long, narrow nozzle. The packaging is suitable for extracting small quantities of the product and carrying around when travelling too. Though there’s just 15 gm of cream per pack, one needs just a dot-sized amount for both eyes, so it has lasted me long enough.

As to the application experience and effectiveness of this eye cream, here’s how it worked on me: The cream is a light yellow colour with a smooth, creamy texture. It feels very light on the skin and takes just about a minute to get absorbed. On application, it brightens up the eye area, without leaving any white-ish hue behind. The fragrance is mild and inoffensive, so that works perfectly too

Now coming to the question of reducing dark circles; like most eye creams, this L’Oreal product does not produce results overnight. Or even over two, three, four nights. Not over a week of regular application either. But, given my stubborn dark circles, I knew I had to persevere. After about a month of using it regularly, twice a day – once in the morning, once overnight – I think my dark circles have reduced. The skin under my eyes is not just lighter but softer as well. But if I don’t get enough sleep, my eyes are puffy and shadowed the next day again. That’s okay though. On the whole, this L’Oreal White Perfect Magic White Double Brightening Eye Cream has definitely reduced my dark circles, which makes me oh-so-happy!

I must mention that I have used several eye creams and home remedies in the past but this has been the most effective. Even though my dark circles are not completely gone, they are lighter for sure, and that is progress! Maybe if I continue to use it for a few more months, they will improve further.

So, here’s my final take on L’Oreal White Perfect Magic White Double Brightening Eye Cream.

Pros:

  • Nice packaging which prevents wastage.
  • Little quantity required to cover both under-eye regions and eyelids even.
  • Leaves no white residue and absorbs quickly.
  • Instantly brightens eye area and softens it too.
  • Has reduced my dark circles with a month of application.

Cons:

  • Quantity is slightly less for the price (but since it is effective, I don’t mind too much).

L’Oreal Professionel Mythic Rich Oil Review

Loreal Mythic Oil Review

I haven’t posted in a while, but here I am back, reviewing a product I absolutely love. It is L’Oreal Professionel Mythic Oil which in my experience, works like a charm! Before I get into details, I have to say that hair serum is an important part of my hair care routine. My long tresses sometimes need an extra dose of nourishment to stay in place and so I have tried serums by many brands. But L’Oreal’s Mythic Oil has become my favourite for it delivers what it promises and is worth every penny spent.

I’ve finished two whole bottles already, and the third is half-way through! Clearly, I’m a fan.

According to the product info, Mythic Oil is a combination of Rice Bran oil and Argan oil, both of which are wonderful for enhancing hair quality. It can be used as construction product and for finishing as well. I usually use it either as a post-wash serum or before any sort of heat styling.

Now, getting to the product itself. L’Oreal’s Mythic Oil comes in plastic packaging with a pump dispenser for convenience. It has a clear sheen and soft, earthy fragrance that is disappears as the oil gets absorbed. On application post a hair wash, I use the serum to lightly coat the length of my hair, especially the tips. I avoid applying it on my scalp though. On application, it gets absorbed within minutes, leaving the hair smooth and silky when dry. The serum helps keeping frizz in check and if I use before hairstyling, my hair doesn’t seem too stiff after the heat treatment.

What I like best about this serum is its light, airy texture which does not weigh down my hair at all. Even though I get the most satisfying results when I apply it on my semi-wet locks, it works well even otherwise.

I have to mention though, that if you’re buying this product expecting it to moisturize your dry hair, that’s probably not going to happen. L’Oreal’s Mythic Oil basically reduces frizz, prevents fly-aways, tames the hair and makes it soft and shiny. But it doesn’t improve hair quality in general. Since I never bought it for that purpose, I’m happy with what it does do – control and condition my (sometimes) frizzy hair.
