Holiday Lookbook – Your Holiday Outfit Guide

If you have been following my blog then you must have noticed this summer has been all about beaches for me. I love a beach destination for the summers. It’s a great way to relax, rejuvenate and get some tan during your summer break. From all my travels this summer I have come up with a list of outfits which are perfect for a beach vacation. So read on and slay the beach look with these must-have outfits:

Tunic: Summer wear is what comes to mind when I think of tunics. They are one of the most comfortable outfits for summer. What makes tunics a go-to outfit for me is that it is so versatile and flatters every body type. You can style it as a dress, as a short kurti over palazzo pants or shorts and even with trousers for work wear. You can even wear it as a beach cover up and get some tan while reading a romantic novel by the ocean.

Off-Shoulder Outfit: Off-shoulder tops are popular on the runway as well as on the streets. Off-shoulder tops are flirty, feminine and look great with shorts as well as a midi skirt. You can pair it with statement accessories to jazz it up for a dinner date or wear it with ripped shorts for a day on the beach. Go for a lacy top with intricate designs to keep it feminine and fun. For a chic look team a flowy top with high-waist shorts, slip on shoes and fun accessories.

Cold Shoulder Top: Another popular trend this spring summer is the cold shoulder trend. If you aren’t comfortable baring your shoulders in an off-shoulder top then this is the trend for you. It’s quirky, fun and very chic. You can opt for a cold shoulder top with bell sleeves or ruffled sleeves to add more drama to your outfit. Don’t just restrict this trend to a top you can also wear a dress with cold shoulder sleeves for a beachy look.

Maxi Dress: I love wearing maxi dresses. This breezy style is one of the most versatile pieces in my wardrobe. I can wear it as a cover-up over a bikini or team it with an embellished belt for a night out. I prefer going for printed maxi dresses in vibrant shades.

Long Shirt or Shirt Dress: Is a fuss free outfit in your beach vacation wardrobe. You can wear a long shirt or a shirt dress for a day at the beach, a casual affair or even date. I prefer shirts in linen material as it helps the skin breathe and keeps me cool in the rising temperatures. You can pair a long shirt with a pair of skinny jeans or shorts and slip on sandals or wear it as it is with a belt for a fitted look.

Sleeveless Jackets: Cover ups are essential for a beach holiday. Since it would be too hot for jackets I suggest a sleeveless jacket in net or crochet material to slip on over your crop top or bikini top and shorts. You can also opt for long sleeveless jackets in chiffon in colorful floral prints as a beach cover up.

Playful Casual Summer Day Outfit

Spring summer trend this season is all about relaxed, breezy and bohemian styles. One such trend which I have loved this season is the cold shoulder trend. Cold shoulder trend has been popular for some time and has become every fashionista’s favorite. The cold shoulder trend is very versatile and looks amazing on everyone. You can even pair a cold shoulder top with other statement sleeve styles like bell sleeves or ruffles.  But mixing different trends can get a little tricky as you don’t want to look like you are trying too hard and look like you just walked off a crazy runway.

If you have read my recent posts you would have seen that I have styled the cold shoulder trend in several ways for different occasions. My outfit today is a fun and upbeat look which is perfect for a day out with family or friends. I paired a black button up cold shoulder top with cropped denim. The cold shoulder top has a very casual style to it and the spaghetti strap is just perfect for the summer. The top also has a split back which makes the whole outfit more summery and bohemian. Blue and black is a classic combo and it’s something you can never go wrong with.

I wanted to amp up my outfit with some stylish accessories. I styled the outfit with brogues in silver and suede. Bold shoes are a great way to add some oomph to your outfit and make it stand out. The shoes are extremely versatile. Generally, brogues are worn with workwear but these bold brogues look good on multiple outfits. You can pair it with a dress or just a jeans and tee combo like I did. Sometimes I feel that the neck looks very bare when sporting the cold shoulder trend so I styled the top with a necktie choker. I finished my outfit look with oversized butterfly sunglasses because summer and sunglasses go hand in hand. I always love to add accessories to my outfit for a complete look.

This entire outfit is very versatile. You can wear this for a lunch, movie date, day in the park or just shopping. You can even pair the top with shorts for a casual day on the beach or a brunch. If you aren’t comfortable with baring your shoulders then you can even pair the top with a jacket or a scarf. This is why one should invest in a few key but fashionable pieces. Nowadays, you even find such incredible trends for women outfits on online shopping websites, which is a boon for busy ladies.

Cold Shoulder & Ruffles Trend

There is something about cold shoulder that has us hooked on the trend. A cold shoulder dress or top is essentially flaunting bare shoulders. There is something elegant and stylish about the cold shoulder. It is summers and you need to add this could shoulder outfit in your wardrobe. A cold shoulder trend is not just for the summer but a great outfit even in slightly chilling evenings.

So, if you want to add some style to your wardrobe then read on to check out how I’ve styled this trend for the chilly evenings. I paired a casual grey cold shoulder maxi dress with tussled hair and metallic shoes. It is a loose A-line Maxi dress with loose fit and long sleeves which make it perfect for evenings. One of my favourite things about this outfit is the ruffles in the shoulder.

Apart from cold shoulder trend, the statement shoulder is getting popular as well. This dress has captured both the trends in one simple outfit. The ruffles in the shoulder and at the bottom of the dress give the whole outfit a romantic and flirty look. The whole look is focused on casual dressing for the weather.

One thing that you must remember when sporting this trend is to focus on keeping the whole outfit simple. I would prefer neutral shades and solid or lightly printed fabrics for this. You don’t want to look like you are trying too hard. Keep a relaxed look and add some oomph to your outfit with fun bag or shoes. I finished the whole look with a light pink lipstick and eyeliner.

You can even add the cold shoulder trend in your work wardrobe by pairing a silk cold shoulder blouse with flared trousers and boots. You can also pair this trend with a pair of ripped denim.
