Dressing this Winter season- Here are the 3 best looks!

As the seemingly endless summer came to an end. It’s time to dress up and flaunt the best we have in our pre-winter wardrobes. And I suggest some creative mix-and-match looks that can be ideated by combining different pieces that you have and creating versatile outfits for work and party. Here are three stellar looks that I want to share for autumn 2018.

The office look – straight skirt with or without jacket

Ribbed Turtleneck Top
Price: £16.95

Sassy Pleats Skirt
Price: £39.95

Let’s start with this stylish office look that I’ve created by wearing a grey pencil skirt with a red turtleneck. The Sassy Pleats Skirt in grey and red check is simple yet elegant and is embellished with decorative buttons to the back. It is teamed with a red ribbed turtleneck that offers warmth and complements it to perfection.

Coat from New Look

For jewelry, I chose to wear simple pearls with the outfit. And you can throw over the Red Check Bouclé Coat for extra layering and formal vibe. The ensemble is just right for the office and can carry you to the evening drinks as well!

The evening look-Jeans with sequin jumper

Sequin Embellished Jumper – Purple
Price: £45

Overdye Blue Jeggings
Price: £45

Taking the Chelsea Boot to new heights
Price: £75.00

The next is the stunning evening look, with a pair of skinny jeans and a delicate sequin jumper. The dark blue skinny jeans offer awesome comfort, while the gorgeous sequins provide just the right dose of glitz and glamour to make heads turn as you step into the pub. I chose to wear ankle-length boots with the outfit.

Eye-catching without going over the top-that’s how I would define this amazing evening look.

The casual look- Green puffer jacket with jeans

Cartmell Lightweight Down Jacket Detail
Price: £80.00

Overdye Blue Jeggings
Price: £45

Now that I talked about the office and evening-out looks, I would next talk about this swanky day-out look. This one is again with my dark blue jeans, this time teamed with a chic green puffer jacket.

The best thing about the jacket is that it is ultra-lightweight yet offers plenty of warmth because it is lightly down-filled. And I absolutely love this shade of green. Once again, I have finished the look with my black ankle-length boots.

So that sums up my three autumn styles for this season. Hope you’ll love them as much as I do!

Autumn Winter 2018 – 5 Fashion Looks to Try this Season

It seems like just yesterday I was posting about Spring trends and now here we are, smack in the middle of Autumn-Winter fashion buzz. I personally love both times of the year since there’s much room to experiment in both seasons.

Here, I have curated some Autumn Winter looks for you all, which are inspired by current runway trends and my personal sense of style. Read on and do share how you feel about them!

The Dress-Boots-Jacket Look

As the days get shorter and the weather becomes more chilly, you’ll need outfits that suit both day and night time outings. I’ve created a chic day-to-night look by teaming a floral midi by Hush, with a grey-green military jacket and calf-length boots from the same brand. The layering gives depth to the otherwise casual dress and makes the ensemble suitable for casual and semi-formal events. With an outfit this versatile, you can easily pull off a day-to-night transition by simply redoing your makeup. Sounds good, right?

Pro Tip – Style your hair into soft waves or long curls which look good in ponytails as well as when left open.

The Embroidered-Skirt Sassiness

My second favourite look would be suitable for brunch dates or daytime outings where you need to look casually stylish with minimal effort. Here, I’ve worn an elegant embroidered skirt with a semi-sheer white, full-sleeves blouse, and short blue boots. Everything I’m wearing is by Monsoon, and I love the graceful femininity all their clothes promise.

I have not accessorized much with this outfit to let the statement skirt shine. Keeping it simple yet sassy!

Pro Tip – Wear a bold lip-colour or eye-shadow with this look to make sure that your outfit does not draw attention away from the face.

The Sweater-Culottes Combo

What do you wear when there’s a definitive nip in the air but you still need to look boho chic? Pull out a sweater with culottes to match. For my sweater-culottes combo, I wore a colour-block John Lewis turtleneck with matching orange wide-leg culottes.
This outfit is great for any casual outing where you want to look effortlessly stylish and remain toasty warm. I wore open-toed clogs for an added touch of boho jazz.

Pro Tip – This look is sharp and edgy; you can carry a statement bag if you’re headed someplace fancy in this outfit.

The Autumn Staple Skinny Jeans

Nothing is as autumny as skinny jeans paired with a classic pair of boots. This is a no-fuss look that works every time and can be customized per occasion. I wore a pair of Monsoon denim with brouges to accentuate my legs. I love this minimalist look since it is very versatile – you can team the denim with different kinds of tops, blouses, and sweaters, based on where you’re headed. You can even experiment with accessories and makeup to make this staple look more interesting!

Working with a bold colour jumper is a great way to work a look with jeans

Pro Tip – Try layering in top-wear with this outfit. You can go in for long jackets, windcheaters, or sheer pull-overs even.

The Blazer-Scarf Jazz

One of my favourite Autumn Winter look in semi-formal outfits is the blazer-scarf pairing which is always a head-turner. I wore a plum jersey blazer by Joules with straight jeans and brogues. I added on a knitted scarf with a cute star pattern which adds oodles of oomph to it, and also because I love star print.

Though I wore it with jeans, you can experiment with more formal clothing like skirts, dresses, and trousers.  I’d advise against accessorizing heavily with such an outfit or it can get too much.

Pro Tip – Look up interesting ways to style your scarf – that can really up the style quotient of this ensemble.

‘Tis The Season For Comfort Wear!

Hoodies, hot cocoa, colourful leaves, pumpkins and bonfires means, the autumn season is finally here! It’s time to bid adieu to our flirty summer dresses, shorts, and pastel colours too. The fashion forecast for autumn is all about comfort clothing. Warm toned hues, clothes with a snuggly fit, three quartered or full sleeves cardigans, boots and plaid shirts are my top style picks which I will be pulling off this season for a comfortable and effortlessly stylish look. A lot of people find it difficult to dress for autumn season. The air is crisp and chilly in the evening which makes you reach out for cozy outfits like your favourite sweater. But don’t just lump on layers this autumn. Gear up for the sweater weather with style tips from my wardrobe.

Recently I visited Delhi, culturally rich and highly fashion-forward city. What makes Delhi a really nice city to visit is the fact that there are a number of historical places, each of which has its own story to tell and also serves as a picturesque spot. Apart from Humayun’s Tomb, Lodhi Gardens, Red Fort, Jantar Mantar, Safdarjung Tomb, India Gate and Hauz Khas village should definitely be on one’s itinerary.

Delhi is also a paradise for all the foodies and shopaholics Connaught place, Janpath. Sarojini Nagar, Lajpat Nagar, Karol Bagh and Dilli Haat are some of the places where you can shop till you drop and then eat to your heart’s content.

Delhi had the perfect autumn weather during my trip. I styled two outfits from Fatface.com, which were absolutely perfect given the light crisp breeze. What makes Fatface different is that the clothes are washed again and again to give you the comfortable old favourite tee feel. Their super soft cardigans, jumpers, tops are a must-have for your autumn wardrobe.

For my first look, I styled a simple plaid shirt with a pair of skinny jeans. The shades of pink, blue and plum complemented each other really well and add the right amount of warmth to the outfit. I tucked my skinny jeans into brown ankle boots. Boots are an absolute essential during the autumn season as they keep your feet warm, are comfortable to walk in and of course, they look amazing. I threw on a brown sling bag to match my boots. The easiest way to push up your fashion scale is to match your bag to your footwear. I kept my accessories minimal by pairing a delicate long chain and two thin bracelets with my outfit.

Outfit Details:

For my second look, I sported a monochrome polka dotted dress. I am always game for Polka dots. They have a cute and playful vibe which can be styled for both work and play. The shirt dress has a fitted waist and a flattering hem which can be easily paired with a cute cardigan for an evening date or a blazer and heels for boss lady look. I teamed up the dress with my brown boots and bag from my first look with minimal accessories. If you’re opting for a monochrome outfit, add a pop of colour to your outfit with a bright lipstick. After all, autumn is all about looking bright and vibrant while feeling light and free.

Both the outfits are a classic style for autumn season which can be paired with different pieces from your wardrobe to create a comfy look. Get set for the season ahead with these must-have styles from Fatface. What are your top picks for autumn? Let me know in the comments below.

Shoes I Can Wear All Day Long

Have you ever faced any of those days where you have to meet your friends for a casual brunch and then head to the office for some work. Dressing up for such days can be a little tricky. You don’t want to look out of place at any of those occasions. So I styled an outfit which is perfect for a girl’s day out and office wear. This is a chic style which take can you from brunch to beyond.hotter-shoes-1-3hotter-shoes-1-5

I paired a black full sleeves blouse with a bow neck along with a classic pair of dark blue skinny jeans and a statement bag. Tuck it in with a plain black belt, and you are good to go for work. For a presentation or a meeting, you can also tie up your hair for a more formal look. For a brunch or a day out with your girls, you can keep it casual by keeping the blouse tucked out, throw on some basic makeup and style your hair in beachy waves. This outfit is also appropriate for autumn. There is some light breeze, and it gets a little cold by the evening, so the full sleeves and boots come in handy.hotter-shoes-1-6The most important aspect of any outfit is comfort and he most comfortable thing about my outfit was the boots. Well you might think I am trying to sell the shoes here, but no that is what I said to my hubby dear after walking in London for more than 15 km in a day “I can wear these shoes all day long.”hotter-shoes

I got these boots from Hotter.com, who design and make all types of shoes for both men and women. The boots were brand new and even without breaking into these they were extremely comfortable. Generally, for most shoes, you need to break into them to make them comfortable and avoid any shoe bites. The first few time you are bound to get some sores or bruises. That is why I even carry Compeed in my bag, which I usually use when I am out in heels walking all day long or have bruises from new shows. But I honestly didn’t feel the need to swap, not with these new babies. I wore these shoes all day long and still no ache or no discomfort.hotter-shoes-1-4I rank them highly on comfort which is a winner and will make you wear your shoes again and again. It’s been two weeks since I have had them and it is only by force or them not matching with the outfit that I have to wear something else. These boots are perfect for the season as they keep my feet nice and warm. Plus they are super comfortable and snuggly.

Awesome Autumn Vibes – Outfit Inspiration for Exploring

This is a shoutout to all divas who love autumn fashion. Isn’t this just the best time of the year? We are surrounded by rich shades of brown, plum and orange – they are a treat to the eye and staples for this season’s closet. What’s not to love here?fatface-autumn-1 For me, the fascination with Autumn is not limited to the incredible couture culture is offers. It’s also about the wonderful character nature assumes in this while. There’s foliage in different stages of growth, there are these lovely breezes, the skies are clear, evenings get slightly chilly. And I genuinely believe that when your environment is so stimulating, you tend to make the best of fashion choices.fatface-autumn-2So, this outfit post is inspired by the awesome autumn weather and the many outdoor escapes I indulge in around this time. As you can see, I am wearing blue skinny jeans with a black and white striped shirt and sleeveless brown jacket. My entire outfit is from the collection by Fatface which is one of the finest brands creating unique outdoor casuals.fatface-autumn-4The simple jeans and shirt are the perfect complement to the statement fur-lined jacket. I love this hooded beauty for it matches the autumn palette wonderfully – a warm, deep brown shade which mirrors the hues of shed leaves and fallen twigs. Since there is a nip in the air after sunset these days, a sleeve-less jacket is a great way to keep yourself warm, especially if you are out exploring the beauty of nature. Also, it reassures me that it’s not quite winter yet and a just full-sleeves shirt will have me feeling cozy. And of course, layering adds a dash of casual glamour, creating the overall impression of effortless stylishness.fatface-autumn-3Outfit Details:

So ladies, this is my go-to look this season. What about you? What’ll you be spotted in on an evening out this season?

Autumn Style Guide – Coffee date outfit inspiration

Autumn is all about comfort. Snuggly sweaters, warm drinks and pretty colors like yellow, reds, orange and burgundy. It is the season of crisp air and light breeze. It’s a season which makes you fall in love with everything.
What to wear for a date is a dilemma faced by every single girl for ages. It is too flashy, skimpy, casual or formal; nothing seems to be just right. Here’s an outfit post which will help you solve your dilemma of what to wear to a coffee date in autumn. So read on and make a note.
fatface-autumn-1 A coffee date is a safe option for a first date or a date where you want to get to know the person in a casual and comfortable setting. Unlike dancing or going for a movie, a coffee date helps you to really get to know the person and stimulates conversation.

This is a causal situation and hence there is high chance of being under-dressed or over dressed. A simple graphic-tee and jeans would be too casual and a midi skirt with a silk blouse would be a bit too much. If you are confused like the many others on how to nail the coffee date look in autumn then you’ve come to the right place.
This outfit is perfect for an evening date when there is light breeze. It can get a little chilly in the evening in autumn so layering or wrapping up gets essential. But how do you layer your outfits without looking like you wore every possible item in your wardrobe?
fatface-autumn-2Autumn is a season of colors. Add a pop of color in your outfit for a chic look. If you are going for an oversized top or jacket then you can team it up with body hugging skinny jeans.

I paired up my burgundy jeans with a simple grey t-shirt and layered it up with an oversized light cardigan to keep me warm. Burgundy is the color of autumn and I have teamed up burgundy with grey. A wrap jacket is a good way to snuggle and feel cozy when the temperature drops in evening. Use a solid frame bag when the outfit is a bit casual to give your outfit edge. Keep your make up simple as a coffee date is a casual affair. Burgundy lips are also in this fall.
fatface-autumn-3You can layer up a dark tshirt with an oversized knit cardigan. Love the fact that this cardigan has tasselled edges and a beautiful draping in a flecked, stripe-detail yarn, combined . With skinny jeans and the right accessorizes like a cap, and structured bag or high heels you can add the much desired oomph to the outfit without being too over the top.

For an edgy outfit you can also throw on a choker or a statement necklace.  If you love wearing dresses in fall then you can layer it up with a jacket or a scarf. A jacket or a scarf can uplift a simple outfit and make it look elegant. You can also use a cap if you are having a bad hair day and do not want to fuss about your hair.

1-tessuti-michaelkors-handbag-1In honour of my love for the orange palette, I decided to write a post on a classic autumn ensemble which celebrates orangey hues. As you can see in the picture, I have teamed a deep orange top with cropped white jeans. A pair of white flats with cut-work detailing and white Michael Kors tote complete my ensemble. The outfit creates a chic, casual look which is great for daytime and evening outings. The makeup, though subtle, has a pop of colour on the lips, which adds a dose of glamour to the overall look.

Maximizing Style with Minimal Fuss: #OOTD Maxi by Myrah

With 2016 flying by at an unbelievable pace, autumn is here now and I couldn’t be more excited. This is a busy time for the fashion industry and a joyous treat for fashion mongers like me! And you know what the best part of this season is? The weather! It’s not too hot or too cold and you can wear all sorts of combinations, colours and textures; the options are endless!myrah-maxi-dress-3

But I do have some favourite styles I like to play around with at this time of the year. Maxis are my go-to outfit and this post is a tribute to the versatility and comfort they promise. Don on a maxi and all you need to think about is the styling. No worrying about looking fat or thin, feeling hot or cold, or being uncomfortable when going out for a long time.myrah-maxi-dress-4So when I was on a shopping spree sometime last month, and go this beautiful blue maxi from Myrah that you see me wearing in the picture. It appealed to me for it has an ethnic print in blue and cream and I simply love fusion outfits! I just had to buy it. And honestly, this isn’t my first purchase from Myrah so I knew the dress will not just be effortlessly stylish but also of great quality and price. In fact, I have a special liking for clothes by this brand for these very reasons and am quite a regular customer.myrah-maxi-dress-5 In terms of styling, I chose to keep it simple since the maxi in itself is quite striking. I wore big silver earrings and platform heels, and added a rustic touch with my jute handbag. The makeup was also subtle, though not bland. The aim was to let this Myrah beauty work its charm and grab all attention while I could keep the accessorizing and makeup minimal. And it worked! I got just so many compliments for this ensemble!
myrah-maxi-dress-1myrah-maxi-dress-2
And this is what I love about maxis – they are glamorous without trying! And they look flattering on everyone, regardless of their body type. Moreover, you can wear them on all kinds of occasions – casual outings as well as semi-formal or formal events. I tend to pick maxis for day-wear when going out for brunch, picnics and shopping. I can already feel that the autumn weather is going to have me wanting more such outfits in my closet. Maybe I’ll buy a couple more from Myrah. Ah, that sounds nice!
