Farm Love and English Summer

I love those lazy summer days, walking barefoot on the crisp lawn and laying down in the shade. Summers in the UK are short but when the sun is out I love to make the most of it. Just slather on some sunscreen, pack a picnic, and enjoy the popsicles and ice cream while enjoying the sun. If you follow me on Instagram you will know that I am crazy about farms, parks and greenery. I love nature and enjoy being outdoors when the weather is good. This season I have made it a point to visit some of the most beautiful farms around the UK. I must say I had tons of fun with my family.

Last year I visited Manor Farm Fruits for a Pick Your Own Fruit Picnic. This is a very popular British summer activity for families and kids. Here you visit farms which produce fruits and are open to welcome visitors to let them pick their own fruit and vegetables fresh from the field. These usually include strawberries, raspberry, blackberries and gooseberries. Summer season mainly falls in the month of July and but fruits like blueberry are harvested towards the end of August or September. This farm is close to Birmingham, and I had such a great time last time I was here that I made a point to visit them this summer as well.

Apart from this, they have a small café and a play area for kids. The best part of this activity is that you get to take fresh fruits back home and make yummy puddings, smoothies, and jams with it. Usually, the farms provide baskets or containers to pick the produce. There are signposts to spot the crops. And you weigh the produce and are charged per kg for the fruit. When going to a farm, its best to wear something which is very comfortable. You also tend to get a bit dirty when picking fruits. You can’t enjoy fully if you are too worried about getting dirty. I paired my cropped distressed denim with a striped cold shoulder top and white sneakers. The cold shoulder has been in style for quite a while and I absolutely love this trend. I love how my outfit contrasts with the strawberries I have picked out.

When talking about English Summer the lavender fields are the most popular attraction.

They start blooming from mid-July. I visited the Cotswold Lavender Fields in Broadway England. You can enjoy a lovely sunset overlooking the lavender fields. It’s just like starring in your own Hollywood movie. The minute you step into the lavender fields you are overwhelmed by the fragrance of lavender. I love the fragrance of lavender as it is very soothing and relaxing. The fields are absolutely stunning and are surrounded by rolling hills, trees and clear blue skies. They even have their own café which offers a unique culinary experience.

You can enjoy some Earl Gray Lavender Tea or even some Lavender Chocolate. Apart from a quaint café they also have a lavender oil processing unit. Apart from essential oil, they even have soaps, diffusers, bath salts and more. They have something to tempt everyone.

The last spot on my bucket list this year was the Real Flower Confetti Farm in Worcester. They are open to the public for 10 days in the summer and it’s a little far away from the city but the trip is worth it. The farm has acres of delphiniums and cornflowers bloom. The flowers only bloom for a few short weeks in the month of July. It’s a spectacular experience to wander alongside the chromatic flowers. The sun-kissed flowers, winding paths and walkways are situated along the Brendon Hill.

It’s one of the most Instagramable countryside views you could ask for. You can enjoy a day with your family or go on a romantic date. The sun-drenched farm fills up your heart with the aroma of the flowers. I enjoyed the day wandering and enjoying the sunset while soaking in the colours. You can take pictures and enjoy some delicious tea, coffee and locally made cakes in The Confetti Café. They even sell natural Confetti Flowers which you can take back as a souvenir. All their orders are handpicked and packed for utmost personalization.  The flower blooms are highly dependent on the weather.

So I suggest you check with the farm before planning a trip. When visiting a farm it is best to wear something breezy and comfortable. I recommend wearing appropriate footwear and shades or a hat as there is very little shade in the field. Also, don’t forget to apply a lot of sunscreen for when it’s sunny. I wore a hush summer dress with prints and lace detailing. I paired the subtle dress with a boho necklace from my upcoming line. The necklace adds a bright pop of colour to my outfit and looks fab with the colourful flowers surrounding me. I completed the look with some quirky accessories to match my outfits like a cocktail ring and bracelets. I am so glad that I could visit this place before they closed for the summer.

This summer has been breathtakingly beautiful for me. I had a wonderful experience enjoying in the fields of summer flowers in the beautiful countryside.

London Fashion Week SS18 Roundup

London Fashion Week is undoubtedly the biggest event in the fashion calendar of the UK. The Fashion Week, which celebrates fashion and style at its best, kicked off the Spring Summer 18 edition on 14th September and concluded on 19th September 2017. The fashion extravaganza featured shows by some of the top international designer labels and was graced by a long list of celebrities. I was there to witness the event and get an insight into the fashion trends for the coming season so that I could share them with my readers.

The London Fashion Week epitomized high-octane creativity from leading brands. From tempting high-street options to affordable street style choices, the range offered at the event was impeccable. The glorious five days here turned up sartorial brilliance for those with a penchant for style. Let’s have a look at the high points of LFW September’17 that deserve the attention of avid fashionistas who want to keep their wardrobe updated with the latest and the best.

Burberry sets the ramp on fire yet again

The brand caught the eye again, with its hallmark Burberry check visible on tanks, mini-skirts, and high-waist trousers topped creatively with pastel coloured plastic coats. Models flaunted the classy check on pleated tulle dresses accessorized tastefully with clog boots and up-sized tote bags. But what really made waves on the ramp was the infamous Burberry cap that made a triumphant comeback to the catwalk this season. Although the brand has always been associated with aristocracy, this season it seems to be driven by style influencers of the more recent times. The techy track pants, hooded anoraks and baseball caps seem to emulate the style fantasies of the working class. Let’s check out the best that Burberry brought to the catwalk this season.

Topshop tops the style game once more

Metallics, crystal accents, vintage feel coats……Topshop seems all set for prepping up wardrobes for the party season ahead. The Topshop Unique show at LFW showcased pieces that were young and sexy but not over the top. Sheer metallic tops were the theme of the collection, with the models going bold with the skin show. Tissue-thin transparent blouses, skinny atomic silver trousers, shrunken mohair vests and brushed red metallic leather minis made perfect picks for nailing that heady London nightlife look. The collection offered voluminous cocoon coats and long leather coats too, but the volume was balanced with sheer blouses and spaghetti strap flowing dresses, making the look more appropriate for the night rather than the day. Little party dresses and sequined showgirl dresses added versatility to the collection. The label showcased its fair share of gleam too, with art-deco chokers and earrings, over-sized pearl details, marabou trims, snake-hipped diamanté buckle-belts, and individual crystals finding the place as trims and accessories.

Edeline Lee strikes a perfect balance between boldness and fragility

Inspired by artist Georgia O’Keeffe, the collection defines the woman with an independent spirit, someone who is strong yet fragile. This season, Edeline Lee comes up with innovative creativity with knotted fabric motifs and 3-D floral embellishments. Smocked shirting pieces with handwritten O’Keeffe quotes were the highlight of the collection. The garments emulated delicate femininity, with wispy voile fabric, delicate smocking and a bit of volume on the sleeves. The well-proportioned pencil dresses and flared skirts in the collection seem to be tailor-made for flaunting womanly curves. And there was Lee’s signature bubble jacquard fabric that was cleverly twisted to introduce exaggerated element onto tops, dresses and trousers. The palette she used was an ode to the Southwestern scenery, with lots of blue, black, blush, adobe, ivory and nude.

Amira Haroon’s collection replicates the American pop culture

Amira Haroon, a Dubai-based designer, presented her stunning collection at the London Fashion Week September 2017 as a part of the DDFC x FAD Dubai Fashion Showcase to take the budding talents from the region at an international level. Inspired by American pop culture, the collection signifies the strong woman of 2018, someone who wears her personality in her outfit and hair, and her efforts and achievements as well. Amira takes her reference from the timeless musician and performer Whitney Houston, who continues to inspire designers and musicians around the world.

FAD India showcases the rich Indian heritage on the ramp

FAD International Academy introduced 8 emerging Indian designers from FAD India at London Fashion Week SS/18. Designers Nidhi Jain, Manali Khude, Simran Oswal, Savio D’Souza, Mehak Somjee, Simran Sachdev, Shraddha Katariya and Shambavi Mudgal were the ones who had the honour of presenting their creations at the prestigious event. Their collections were featured at the House of MEA Catwalk Show at Fashion Scout. Contrasting textures, rich fabrics and vibrant colours were blended together to project the rich Indian heritage through their designs. The variety in fabrics was diverse, with abundant use of luxurious pure silks, velvets, georgettes, and velvet, and that of contemporary leather, jute and yarns as well. The collections innovated traditional embroideries and surface ornamentation techniques such as gold embroidery, metalwork, Aari and Zardozi and inverted diamond smocking, with three-dimensional texturizing. The designers came up with inventive fabric manipulation techniques too, creating unique silhouettes with perma pleating, heat pressing and distressing and draping.

Innovation X: A Portrait of India blends tradition and modernity

This year’s Fashion Scout at LFW was concluded with Innovation X: A Portrait of India, an event that celebrated the established as well as emerging fashion pioneers from India. Spearheaded by ace designer Manish Malhotra, the show presented the likes of Masaba Gupta, Priyanka Khosla, Hardika Patel, Avleen Anand, Kamran Patel, Sakshi Bhalla, Kanika Manchanda and Jasminum. All the eight labels have earned repute for blending Indian heritage and modern techniques to create their garments.

Nothing could get bigger than the big show, as it presented unending options for style enthusiasts. These are just a few of the designers and trends that I wanted to highlight. But alas, all good things have to end and so did the biggest fashion event in London. All the hot and happening trends at London Fashion Week September 2017 have left the fashion enthusiasts excited and waiting eagerly for the event to come back with its next edition.

Lehenga Styling for Pre-Wedding Rituals

A wedding is a plush affair in India and it is celebrated on a grandiose scale. Every bride to be is very eager to pick out her outfits, be it a wedding lehenga, cocktail dress or reception saree. The colour of the outfits, the matching jewellery, the contrast with the wedding décor are all the things that run in a bride’s mind before the big day. And it is obvious because it’s her special day and she wants to look nothing short of perfect for the groom and the camera.

Indian weddings are a grand affair. They are always celebrated with a lot of colours, themes, rituals and functions before the big day. Starting from the functions like Mehendi or sangeet to the main event a bride has to pick multiple outfits which make her look her best for all the events. Before finalizing on any of outfits a bride needs to do some market research.

Make sure to check out the local stores, online shops and the runaway designer style to check out the latest trends before picking out your outfit.

If you are getting hitched sometime soon and on a hunt for a stunning outfit for your pre-wedding rituals, then check out this monotone lehenga styled by me. A bridal lehenga is incomplete without some detailed handwork and embroidery.

I have styled this flared lehenga with embroidery work from Priti Sahni. The lehenga is a bold deep purple shade. If you are a bride who wants to break the stereotype and move away from the typical reds and pinks, then this colour is your pick. For brides who love to experiment this deep purple colour is very sultry and makes for a sophisticated look for any evening events.

This lehenga is perfect for a Sangeet. This colour block lehenga with detailed zardozi embroidery on the choli and the skirt is stunning enough to let you sizzle on the stage. An ode to Indian crafts and design, this lehenga set can make your evening even more memorable.

For a complete look, you need to pair your lehenga with the right type of jewellery. I paired this extravagant lehenga with Kundan, Emerald and Ruby studded jewellery.

Kundan Jewelry is very traditional and classic. The elegance of these stone studded jewellery is no match to any other contemporary styles. The light gold colour of the kundan perfectly matches the gold dupatta and the work on the lehenga.

Since the blouse is very heavy I would recommend to not wear too many statement pieces of jewellery. But that doesn’t mean you don’t flaunt some crystal. You can always pair a Maang tikka and bring some oomph to your outfit. Maang tikkas have come back in style and are a great way to style your outfit. The boat neck of the blouse allows me to wear a choker necklace which is traditional yet fashionable.

Now when it comes to makeup and hair, this outfit would look great with some subtle makeup. You can either go for bold lips or eyes, but not both. I also prefer open hair and loose curls for a girly look. One can always tie up their hair into a bun for a sophisticated look but I believe buns are better for post-wedding events like the reception.

What makes this piece even more special for me is the woman behind it. Priti Sahni was an engineer by profession, who quit her job to pursue her passion of designing. Known for her hand embroideries and Indian Craft, Priti’s designs have an interesting mix of colours and fabric which are woven into the most beautiful sarees and lehengas.

Red the Colour of Love.

Every girl desires to look their best when it comes to traditional wear. We all spend a lot of time deciding which accessories to pair up, which hairstyles to do. But when it comes to celebrations and cultural festivities, Indian Lehengas are always on our mind

Since I always try to put a twist on my outfits. Then, why not to this lehenga style?

I enjoy dressing up and love to use my creativity on my outfit ideas. Lehenga is a synonym and reminds of traditional wear. The fashionista in me always strives to look better and even more stylish than before. I, myself, wear western on daily basis, so, I experimented with the traditional look of Indian Lehengas to give it a peculiar and modern look. A little experiment with subtle of twist is just adding glamour to my attire.

Lehenga generally reminds one of Gagra choli paired with a matching blouse, then let me show you how I created this modern style lehenga for myself.

I chose this gorgeous peplum top and skirt from Nakhra by Parthivi. I love this brand and its flair to explore and keep bringing such new chic outfits to serve their customers. Crafted by master craftsmen, using finest fabrics, they keep in mind what modern women want and always aim to make their customers happy by creating various gorgeous looks including fabrics and embroideries for the modern women.

Initially, I was a bit sceptical to style an all plain red outfit, but then getting creative with this look had me excited. This plain red dress looks so gorgeous, great flair and fit, which makes the appearance look even more versatile.

The peplum top is so pretty and well fitted. You can also wear this along with jeans. Even, this skirt can be perfectly paired with another blouse or any other top. The opportunities and outfit styles you can create with this outfit are numerous, even while writing this I can think of more than 10 more ways I can style it.

More than anything, the simple lehenga and the beautiful red colour adds the elegance into action. No doubt, the red makes it brighter and prettier.

Always remember jewellery is a perfect spice that complements what’s already there. I went with this Kundan neckpiece and added a maang tikka with it. Since the lehenga is plain, I wanted to balance the look. My kundan accessories blended with my look perfectly and added oomph to the complete look.

A lehenga is incomplete without dupattas, chunis. People usually say a dupatta enhances a woman’s look to a whole new level. I paired this with a  silk dupatta. Breaking the monotony of red, I chose this green colour dupatta which added a perfect edge to my outfit. This dupatta is a cherry on the top. It just completed my quirky modern lehenga look by adding extra glamour to it.

Well, this one is worth investment. If you wish, you can play with different items from your wardrobe and create one such personalized outfit for you. Just experiment and be comfortable.

Do you like this idea of incorporating this modern look on Indian lehenga? What did you like? Let me know if you want me to do more posts on outfits that can be styled in more than one way in the comments section below.

My Experience At Bibury

If you have been following me on Instagram, you probably know that I had recently visited Bibury- a charming, typically Cotswold, village just a short drive from Cirencester. It has rightly been labelled as ‘The most beautiful village in England’.

Arlington Row, owned by the National Trust, is the nationally notable architectural conservation area that is depicted on the inside cover of all UK passports. Its cottages are referred to as the most photographed and beautiful ones in the country.

The River Coln flows through Bibury, sandwiched between the main village street and an expanse of a boggy water meadow known as Rack Isle. With Arlington Row forming a beautiful backdrop, it makes one of the most picturesque scenes one can find in the Cotswolds.

Other attractions in Bibury include the Bibury Trout Farm which is one of the oldest and most attractive trout farms in the country, covering almost 15 acres, where you can learn about trout and also catch your own meal; and the amazing village church, St. Mary’s- a Grade 1 listed building with a Saxon gravestone set into the exterior, a superb Norman doorway and some fine medieval windows.

Bibury is a popular Cotswolds’ attraction that has visitors on sunny summer afternoons as well as on cold winter days. There are several places to eat and drink in the village.

If you are visiting Bibury, then you have a couple of options to choose from, for self-catering rental and bed & breakfast accommodation. There are holiday cottages within a walking distance of Bibury and Arlington, but if you’re looking for bed & breakfast accommodation, you should definitely give Judith at Cotteswold House a call. This family-run business has a Gold Award rating by English Tourism. You could also stay at the Swan hotel, which is at a prime location in the city. It is set on the banks of the river Coln, and a walk across the stone bridge will take you to the village of Arlington. The Swan brasserie serves modern European cuisine prepared from fresh local produce, and fine wines.  Other places to choose from include 33 The Square, Tillows Cottage, Hartwell Farm, Hesters Barn, and Cirencester Hotels amongst others.

During my visit, I stopped for lunch at the Bibury Trout Farm. Their fresh and smoked trout is a well-liked delicacy and is best when barbecued.

Apart from the Trout Farm and the Swan Brasserie, you could also visit The Catherine Wheel Pub for a fine choice of beers and wines.

Now talking about what I wore to Bibury, which most of my Instagram followers seem excited about, my outfit of the day incorporated the very trending boho-chic theme, but with an ethnic twist. Since I was travelling, I wanted to be very comfortable but only without compromising on my style quotient. So I chose to pair a flared indigo kurti with jeans and my go-to sneakers. I also threw on a chunky silver necklace for that fun, bohemian vibe. As most of us know, the colour indigo is the season’s new neutral hue that should totally make its way into your wardrobe right now. It can be mixed with other colours or can just be worn by itself. The kurta I have worn is dual-patterned and flared from below the bust. This gives it a fun, feminine look.

And of course, one can never underestimate the power of an accessory and especially a bohemian statement necklace. A necklace immediately amps up your casual look and that’s exactly what it has done to my simple, travel-friendly outfit as well. And lastly, you can never go wrong with a comfy pair of sneakers. It won’t stop you from enjoying yourself, won’t give your feet blisters and certainly won’t bring kill your look.

“Out of the Box Festive Styling” – Modern Style Traditional Values

The time for celebration has begun with the onset of Navratri. Navratri stands for ‘nine nights’ which are filled with the rhythm and hues of dandiya, Raas Garba, pooja and festive fashion. The festival is about more than just worshipping of the deities. It’s about celebrating as a community and dancing away until the wee hours of the morning to some traditional folk songs. The nine days of Navratri have different cultural connotations and are often represented with 9 hues, one for each day. This is a perfect fashion week for any fashionista who leaves no stone unturned to look pretty and stylish for all the 9 days with different colours, style and outfits.

I enjoy dressing up for any festive season and love to get creative with my traditional outfits. I prefer to wear western outfits on a daily basis, but when it comes to festivities I prefer to go back to my roots and take some cultural inspiration from my traditional outfits. But the inner diva in me loves to experiment with my traditional look by giving it a quirky twist. Navratri has been synonymous to Chaniya Cholis or Lehengas. But for the beauty queen, it’s more than just following the traditional ethnic wear. Add some glamour to your conventional traditional attire with this quirky ethnic outfit for a trendy Navratri this year!

Navratri is not just about Lehengas, so this year I chose to style a gorgeous crimson and black tusser silk saree from Amota for the festivities. Amota is a brand that strives to bring back the hues of India’s traditional textiles. They aim to create contemporary designs by merging modern with traditional while keeping sustainability in mind. Their silks made with authentic handwoven fabrics such as tusser silk, gichha silk, mulberry silk, and pure cotton.

I chose a tusser silk saree because I personally love the elegant and sophisticated finish the cloth gives you. It’s a classic pick for a traditional look. The saree has a black border with silver piping which enhances its subtlety. I gave this gorgeous traditional silk a contemporary twist by ditching the conventional blouse and pairing it with an off-shoulder crop top instead. Indo-western outfits have always been in vogue and this is a perfect outfit for you this festive season. Add a trendy crop top to your traditional outfit and watch the crowd taking style lessons from you this season. The crop top gives the saree enough oomph to give it a modern twist while keeping its elegance intact. It’s a very stylish option and also very convenient. Just think of how easily you can wear any saree without having to worry about getting a blouse stitched the next time. I love wearing contrasting shades. I love to incorporate the colours of the festival in my outfit so I paired my crimson saree with a yellow off-shoulder crop top instead of a boring black one. I wanted to flaunt my off-shoulder crop top style so I pleated the pallu of my saree to show-off the statement sleeves of my crop top.

Every outfit is incomplete with some jewellery. Traditional Navratri jewellery has a lot of silver bohemian pieces. I paired a chunky silver necklace with a statement cocktail ring. When talking about accessories for Navratri we need some gorgeous jhumkas to complete our look. I decided to go bold with my entire look by finishing it with a bold lip colour matching my saree.

You can play around with multiple pieces in your wardrobe to create our own personalized outfit. You can pair this saree with an ethnic jacket or wrap the pallu around your neck as a scarf. You can also experiment with footwear by wearing jhootis or Kholapuris. Just remember, to stay comfortable as you won’t be able to enjoy the raas-garba in high heels.

Have you picked out your outfits for Navratri yet? Do let me know if you guys come up with some interesting styles in the comments below.

‘Tis The Season For Comfort Wear!

Hoodies, hot cocoa, colourful leaves, pumpkins and bonfires means, the autumn season is finally here! It’s time to bid adieu to our flirty summer dresses, shorts, and pastel colours too. The fashion forecast for autumn is all about comfort clothing. Warm toned hues, clothes with a snuggly fit, three quartered or full sleeves cardigans, boots and plaid shirts are my top style picks which I will be pulling off this season for a comfortable and effortlessly stylish look. A lot of people find it difficult to dress for autumn season. The air is crisp and chilly in the evening which makes you reach out for cozy outfits like your favourite sweater. But don’t just lump on layers this autumn. Gear up for the sweater weather with style tips from my wardrobe.

Recently I visited Delhi, culturally rich and highly fashion-forward city. What makes Delhi a really nice city to visit is the fact that there are a number of historical places, each of which has its own story to tell and also serves as a picturesque spot. Apart from Humayun’s Tomb, Lodhi Gardens, Red Fort, Jantar Mantar, Safdarjung Tomb, India Gate and Hauz Khas village should definitely be on one’s itinerary.

Delhi is also a paradise for all the foodies and shopaholics Connaught place, Janpath. Sarojini Nagar, Lajpat Nagar, Karol Bagh and Dilli Haat are some of the places where you can shop till you drop and then eat to your heart’s content.

Delhi had the perfect autumn weather during my trip. I styled two outfits from Fatface.com, which were absolutely perfect given the light crisp breeze. What makes Fatface different is that the clothes are washed again and again to give you the comfortable old favourite tee feel. Their super soft cardigans, jumpers, tops are a must-have for your autumn wardrobe.

For my first look, I styled a simple plaid shirt with a pair of skinny jeans. The shades of pink, blue and plum complemented each other really well and add the right amount of warmth to the outfit. I tucked my skinny jeans into brown ankle boots. Boots are an absolute essential during the autumn season as they keep your feet warm, are comfortable to walk in and of course, they look amazing. I threw on a brown sling bag to match my boots. The easiest way to push up your fashion scale is to match your bag to your footwear. I kept my accessories minimal by pairing a delicate long chain and two thin bracelets with my outfit.

Outfit Details:

For my second look, I sported a monochrome polka dotted dress. I am always game for Polka dots. They have a cute and playful vibe which can be styled for both work and play. The shirt dress has a fitted waist and a flattering hem which can be easily paired with a cute cardigan for an evening date or a blazer and heels for boss lady look. I teamed up the dress with my brown boots and bag from my first look with minimal accessories. If you’re opting for a monochrome outfit, add a pop of colour to your outfit with a bright lipstick. After all, autumn is all about looking bright and vibrant while feeling light and free.

Both the outfits are a classic style for autumn season which can be paired with different pieces from your wardrobe to create a comfy look. Get set for the season ahead with these must-have styles from Fatface. What are your top picks for autumn? Let me know in the comments below.

Your Guide to help you parade in style with these designer bags

Every girl deserves a designer bag and when it comes to bags, no one can have just one. So let’s talk about luxury. Designer bags are a huge investment which never goes out of style. It’s like antiques or fine wine, which takes an expert eye to appreciate. When it comes to luxury designer goods, as a bag-lover, I look out for quality, craftsmanship, and style rather than just the brand name. When paired with the perfect outfits, they make you look fab. So now that we have a new fashion season, we are seeing a lot of new trends, colours and patterns when it comes to bags. So here’s the ultimate guide to help you parade in style with these designer bags.

Spring summer 2017 has been all about bright colours. Add a pop of colour to your wardrobe with some bright accessories. Yellow is the perfect colour for summers. It’s a colour which resonates with smile, brightness, joy and summer. You can go for a bag like my Franchetti Bond bag. When pairing this bag with my outfits I prefer to keep my outfit simple.

Apart from bright colours, pastels are also very trendy this spring summer. I love this feminine detailing and colour of my pastel pink Moschino bag. This is a perfect romantic look bag. Going on a date? Pair this bag with your favorite dress for a cute look.

When investing in designer bags I love to invest in a few classics which never go out of style. One of my favorite classic from my wardrobe is my Michael Kors bag. It’s my go-to bag for a lot of my outfits. I pair it with my work wardrobe as well my casual wardrobe. Paired with a suit or a summer dress, this bag can subtly make your outfit a lot more stylish.

When talking about classics and luxury there is one brand which is a must in every designer bag collection. You got it right, it’s Burberry. I love how Burberry bags keep the current trend and its classic design in sync with this Reverse T bag in Red. This is a reversible tote with a bright red finish on one side and the classic Burberry checks on the other. This bag is a very versatile and chic piece.

Another timeless classic is a black leather bag. It’s something that every woman needs in her wardrobe. It can be your work buddy and your travel buddy. I really like Coach bags, and I’m particularly loving their Black Glovetan Leather Hobo Bag. It’s minimalistic, elegant and functional. It looks chic yet cozy and comfortable. It’s a bag which is perfect for any season and occasion.

I prefer carrying big bags while I am outside or have a lot of long days due to work commitments. Also, when I need to travel, it calls for a big bag. But mini bags have been in trend this season. A small bag is something I carry when I am out for dinner, movie or a date. I think Valentino bags are worth a shot this season. The small Lock bag with a rounded shape looks stunning with its flap closure covered in studs, the line’s signature detail. The colour is also timeless and the metallic chains are easy to carry.

Bags are a great accessory to express your style. At times it does feel funny to buy an expensive designer bag. But it’s more like an addiction once you start your own collection. You can never have too many! So what does your designer collection look like? Let me know in the comments below.

Diamonds are forever and these 5 classic diamond jewelry pieces will never go out of style:

Studs are my go-to earrings and I love how they make me look polished and sophisticated instantly.

Tennis Bracelet: A tennis bracelet is a simple line of symmetrical diamonds. This bracelet has an iconic moment in fashion and sports history. The name was inherited from Chris Evert who lost her bracelet during the US Open and paused the play to find it. After all you can’t lose a diamond chasing glitter. It’s no fuss design is what makes it a staple piece in your jewelry wardrobe.

Pendant: Invest in a go with everything necklace by going for an elegant pendant. You can opt for a heart, pear or star-shaped pendant for an elegant look. You can always match it with your studs or tennis bracelet to add some more sparkle to your look. You can also layer this pendant with another style in your wardrobe. However you decide to style, a diamond pendant is an essential for every woman.

If you are planning to travel to Mykonos then look no further as this post will help you with some of the best and unique restaurants in Mykonos on your travels.

Food has and would always be a major deciding factor while zeroing down on a travel destination. For many of us, there is no better way to experience a place than exploring various places to eat. While I cannot stop gushing about the quirky places to eat, there were a couple of them that stood out and are must try:

Kuzina: The beach facing restaurant in the Mykonos Ammos hotel is not only known for the beautiful Aegean Sea views but lip smacking food, especially the sushi (the sushi chef is a master at making yummy sushi). The ambiance is perfect for a romantic dinner date complete with Greek soft music, drinks, and friendly staff. If you are staying at the Ammos hotel, you can even go ahead and try their big breakfast spreads and lunch menus.

Sic, coffee bar: This brand-new coffee shop is located at the heart of the island called the town square. The café located amidst the white washed architecture is perfect to stop for a caffeine shot and small nibbles. The café, being newly constructed is a refreshing welcome for all of us wanting to take a break from walking around the town.

Sunset Bar: Always dreamt of sitting back with a glass of a cool cocktail and watching the sun go down in the horizon? Well, it need not be a dream anymore, because the Sunset bar, located in little Venice is perfect to sit back, relax with a refreshing drink and watch the sunset. You can also get a great view of the town itself, so all in all a great place to chill and unwind after a hard day. Just make sure, you get there in time to watch the sun set.

Veranda Bar: Again, a lovely bar in Little Venice, perfectly situated to watch the sunset and windmills. It is best to take the water edge seats to have good views of the windmill and sunset. Not to mention, their refreshing range of cocktails especially ‘the third windmill’ is a must try. If in doubt about the choice of cocktails, simply ask one of their friendly staff members to help you out.

Vinos: A cozy little place located in the heart of the Mykonos town is a great outdoor place to unwind for a drink and yummy food. They have an extensive selection of Greek wines that pair up wonderfully well with the freshly prepared foods like salads, cheese, and curated meats. If you are too confused about the wines, simply ask one of the ever so friendly staff members for a recommendation. So, sit back and have a guaranteed lovely evening.

D’Angelo Mykonos: There is always an Italian restaurant gem in every city and Mykonos is not an exception. The Italian style bistro is situated en route to the Windmills and is a pleasant outdoor restaurant. They have a wide range of authentic pizzas and pasta, with a wide array of options to satisfy even a vegetarian like me. The wine and food are clear winners here. This is one place we would not mind returning to.

While the list of places to eat are never ending and we need multiple trips to Mykonos to cover them all, but overall the island has surprised us with multiple options to choose from, thereby satisfying every mood and palate. But most importantly the ambience, pretty views, and friendliness of the staff added a cherry to the cake.

Mykonos Travel Diaries

If you have dreamt of holidaying in the Mediterranean, then the Greek island of Mykonos is worth packing your suitcases and taking the next available flight to it. The vibrancy and energy when you simply walk around the distinct white and blue island is tremendous. No wonder it is always buzzing during the peak summer season which typically starts in June and ends in October. It is mostly warm for the major part of the year and the lovely sea breeze blowing through your hair makes it look like a scene just out of a movie.

The sandy white beaches are always beckoning you to visit and take a dip in the crystal-clear waters. The most popular ones are Ornos, Paradise, Super Paradise and Elia.

Ornos being closest to the city center is much quieter and the winds are relatively less as compared to the other beaches. Thus, making it perfect for families and for those looking for some ‘me time’.

The Elia Beach has the longest stretch of white sands and transparent waters; although it is far from the city center still attracts many people.

Paradise is the most popular among backpackers and party goers alike. Typically, the beach parties start around 4 pm and go on till wee hours of the morning. The city is best explored on foot or if that is too tedious for you, there are multiple options for ATV’s, bikes, scooters, mopeds and even buses.

You can start walking at leisure around little Venice, which derives is name due to the little houses on the water. This is an excellent place to spend the evening sipping coffee or wine in one of the many bars and catch a glimpse of the sunset. You can also treat your eyes to the white windmills, which are historically symbolic to the island in terms of the prosperity and trade. Out of 16 that are preserved, 7 are perched on a small hill in Kato Myloi (Lower Windmills) in the village Chora.

You can visit 2 of these windmills namely; Bonis Mill and Geronymos mills to get a good look and understanding of how they work.

As you walk around the city passing through cobbled streets and narrow lanes, you cannot help but notice the serene white colored buildings and houses perfectly complimenting the blue Aegean Sea water. Thus, making it a symbol of the Greek flag colors. But more importantly, they were initially painted white to insulate the homes and make it heat resistant. Winters become cooler, but most of the island is empty and only a few hotels are occupied. If you are looking for a relaxing way to spend your afternoon, you can also take a boat tour of the island or smaller islands around for as little as 250 Euros. But make sure to make bookings in advance to get some good deals.

Mykonos has something for everybody; families, honeymooning couples, solo travelers and even senior citizens. You can enjoy the fast-paced beach parties or relish your favorite dish or simply plonk yourself on of the quieter beaches to catch the sunset and windmills. If Greece is on your bucket list, be sure to include Mykonos in the itinerary because it is truly worth it.

Loving It Series- New Skin Care Products

Being an avid makeup enthusiast, I love experimenting with the latest beauty products in the market. Recently, I used a few products for the first time and would love to recommend the superb products to the readers.

Let’s check out the Loving It Series, as I call them:

Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil

An amazing product, this rejuvenating face oil makes an excellent alternative to face serums. It is made of hazelnut oil along with pure plant extracts of Rosewood, Patchouli and Blue Orchid. I love this product because it leaves my skin soft, supple and hydrated. It has a thin consistency and does not give a heavy or oily finish, rather leaves the skin looking radiant and healthy. What more, it is effective for getting rid of blemishes and open pores too. Just apply the oil in the evening and leave it overnight to let the skin soak it.

Tropika Skin Coconut Cleansing Oil

Another skin care product that I fell in love with is Tropika Skin Coconut Cleansing Oil which is just right for sensitive skin. The best thing about this cleansing oil is that it is formulated with natural ingredients, virgin coconut oil and olive oil. While virgin coconut oil keeps the skin clear and blemish-free, olive oil prevents premature aging. Together, these ingredients work magic to remove the makeup and leave the skin smooth, soft and clear. Mix a few drops with some water and massage on your face to get rid of dirt and makeup gently.

Coola SPF 30 Sunscreen Spray

Coola SPF 30 Sunscreen Spray is a great product if you are an outdoor lover. Made with 97% organic inactive ingredients, the spray offers active sun protection naturally. It contains aloe, algae, cucumber and strawberry extracts which work together to hydrate, nourish and repair dry and damaged skin. Algae and strawberry extracts give protection from the harmful UV rays. The spray comes in natural citrus mimosa and pina colada fragrances and I absolutely love both of them.

Estee Lauder- Perfectly Clean Triple Action Cleanser, Toner and Makeup Remover

A versatile product, this one is something I would recommend for all. It is a refreshing, airy foam cleanser that removes makeup and impurities gently and thoroughly, without drying the skin. It leaves the skin toned and luminous, without any oily residue. The product is enriched with natural botanicals and minerals that comfort and clarify the skin. Gently massage it on dry skin and rinse it off.

Clarins SPF 50 Sunscreen

Another Clarins product that I would like to talk about is Clarins SPF 50 Sunscreen. It is a lightweight and oil-free day screen that provides complete protection from UVA/UVB rays. It also protects the skin from pollution and damage caused by free radicals. Clarins’ pioneering Anti-Pollution Complex forms an invisible shield for the skin, keeping it safe from premature aging and dark spots.

I recommend that you make all these products a part of your daily skin-care regime to get a radiant, youthful and beautiful skin.

Beach Beauty Essentials

Summer breeze, the sun, sand and the sea all call for a beach day.

With the weather getting better, you can’t stay indoors and the beach is a perfect getaway. But packing for the beach can be tricky. Also, the sun and sea don’t get along with skin and hair very well. Sun burns, tans, frizzy unruly hair and many other issues can ruin your vacation and that’s the last thing you want. Be a beach beauty with these must have beauty products in your beach bag.

Here is a snap of the products I packed into my bag for my last beach holiday.
Take a leaf from my book of advice and don’t forget to take these must have products with you.

Be a beach beauty with these must have beauty products in your beach bag:

  1. Sunscreen: Wearing sunscreen every day is an unwritten rule in the book of skin care so the beach is no exception. You may use SPF 20 – 30 for regular use but for beach holiday go for a sunscreen with UV A/B protection with SPF 50 or more which is water resistant.
  1. Tinted moisturizer with SPF: If you are not in the mood for applying a foundation and want to go for a minimalistic makeup routine then go for a light non-greasy formula when picking a tinted moisturizer. It helps even out the skin tone and keeps your face hydrated and also protects you when stepping out.
  1. Primer with SPF: For a long lasting picture perfect make up invest in a light weight primer with SPF for skin protection. The primer will give you an even base for your makeup and also help cover any redness because of sun exposure easily.
  1. Powder based foundation: Cream based or liquid foundation can give you an oily finish or a melted look. Powder based foundations are great during the summer to achieve a sweat proof makeup look.
  1. Lip balm: The last thing you want is dry and chapped lips. It’s important to moisturize your lips even during the summer. I prefer using a lip balm with SPF, especially if I’m stepping out in the sun. Also, your lipstick or gloss looks way better on hydrated lips.
  1. Blue eyeliner: Ditch the black eyeliner on your beach holiday. Summers are all about vibrant colors. Let your makeup reflect that summer vibe with colored eyeliners.
  1. Sea salt hairspray: The sun exposure, dips in the salty ocean and chlorine filled pools can take a toll on your hair. To add to that you often end up using styling tools to avoid frizzy hair because of the humidity. Switch your styling tools and products for a sea salt spray and flaunt those beachy waves effortlessly.
  1. Body Mist: A body mist is light and perfect for the beach. You can carry a small bottle in your beach bag for a refreshing spray whenever you are feeling sticky or sweaty. Get a floral or zesty fragrance for the summer.
  2. Conditioner: With all the sea salt and humidity in the air, a good conditioner is a must to make sure your locks well cared for no matter what and I have chosen the Redken Volumising conditioner to make sure my hairs are not flat.
  3. Hat, Sunglasses & Book & Magazines – These are some of the accessories that are a must in your beach bag to give you right protection from the sun and also some entertainment when you are sun bathing on the beach.

Are there any products that you never travel without on your beach holiday? Let me know in the comments below.

Festival Makeup – Bohemian Summer Look

It is often said that leave a little sparkle wherever you go. Glitter is one of my favorite when I want to add some oomph to my outfit. It’s never a dull moment when you have some glitter on. A good way to incorporate this trend is my sporting glitter makeup. A little bit of sparkle goes a long way and makes sure people give you a second glance. A lot of times sporting glittery makeup can be a little too intimidating and scary. Also, a lot of people do tend to go a bit overboard with it. The key to dramatic glitter eyes is moderation. So if you want perfect party eyes… then glitter is the way to go!

Here’s how you can wear glitter with ease and steal the show.

I created the glitter makeup look for the Godiva Festival. The Godiva Festival is a three-day free music festival which offers great music, entertainment, international food and drinks, children’s fun fair and more. It’s an all in one event which is celebrated in the city’s War Memorial Park. They have 5 stages, 4 tents and two fields filled with fun activities for everyone.

The festival outfit look has a very boho vibe to it. You generally see people sporting fringes, psychedelic prints, hats, boho jewelry.

Instead of going for the obvious flower crowns and chunky bracelets go for something unexpected and add some glitter makeup to your outfit. I’ve created a very versatile and comfortable festival look.

I paired a red summer dress with some lace detailing with my glitter eye makeup. I matched my makeup with the tiny glitter bag with all my essentials. The dress is quite simple. So, I jazzed it up with my makeup and accessories.

I wanted to keep my jewelry to a minimum because who wants to take care of it while you are having so much fun. So I wrapped my necklace as a bracelet for a funky style and used a neck tattoo instead of jewelry for a more fashionably comfortable look.

There are various ways in which you can pair your outfit with a glittery look. You can even sport a short dress or a long gown and add some color with a contrasting outfit. But when you are trying the glitter look to make sure you match it with your outfit. Avoid looking like a shiny disco ball by complementing it with some sober pieces in your look. Keep your outfit simple so that it can bring out the elegant look and make your makeup look charming. So don’t be afraid to sparkle a little, because she who leaves a trail of glitter is never forgotten.

I am currently obsessed with this glitter makeup look and am planning to create one more look soon. But this time I want to experiment with some colors so I am looking at shades of mauve. Are you excited about this look?

Good Hotel London Review – A profit for non-profit hotel in London

With a unique waterfront location, pure industrial design aesthetic and an uber-premium experience on offer, The Good Hotel is truly one of a kind: a redesigned hotel upon a floating platform, with a stunning view that every Londoner would love to wake up to. In fact, the on-point location and gorgeous view from the room were two stand-out features for me during my recent stay at the property.

Another highlight of The Good Hotel is its design. It is clean, modern and fresh; an ode to the luxury of simplicity and a style that I find truly delightful. Throughout the hotel experience, I noticed the purposeful contrast of industrial design aesthetic with natural materials, and the use of classic pieces and fixtures, which gave the property a truly unique character. Much to my delight, the minimal design ethos trickles down into the rooms as well, which are smartly laid out to make the most of each space.

I must say that I was rather surprised to see that there was no ironing board in the room itself; instead, it was shared, which was slightly inconvenient. Another surprise – no televisions! This can be both good and bad, depending on how you look at it. Personally, I felt that the absence of a television in my room encouraged me to get out. Rather than indulging in some binge-watching under a blanket, I took advantage of the nicely laid out workspace and made the most of the rest of the property as well. To my mind, the only downside of not having a television in the room is that I love unwinding in my room with a good show when I’m traveling on my own. But maybe that’s just me.

The workspace really deserves a special mention. In fact, it was one of the best parts of my stay. Not only does it inspire and stimulate the creative juices; it also offers plenty of light, personal space and WiFi. What’s not to love?

When it comes to food, the choice is slightly limited, but the fare that is available is deliciously good. I opted for tapas and soup for dinner – both were absolutely scrumptious. For breakfast, The Good Hotel offers a great spread of continental options to choose from, like avocado salad, tomato juice, fresh cheese and more. If you prefer a good English breakfast, like I do, there are plenty of options around the property to choose from.

Overall, I would give The Good Hotel four stars out of five. The Good Hotel is still a wonderful place to stay. It has a fresh design, a great location and is so comfortable that you can work and/or lounge around the property, all day long!

Also, Don’t Forget – Good Hotel is a social business initiative which re-invests all their profits to train long-term unemployed local people and educate disadvantaged children. By staying at Good Hotel, you are helping the local community to maintain these programs.

Summer Fun with FatFace

All seasons are beautiful as they all bring a peace and happiness of its own kind. Still, summer time is usually the best, as it not only give us a beautiful tan but tons of memories.

It’s the season of warm weather, the sunshine, blooming flowers and green grass.  I love this season and tend to enjoy summer days by hiking in the woodland or just strolling around the parks and soaking up the sun while watching the flowers bloom. Or even plan a small picnic by the river in the park with family.

Weather changes. Every season come and go. But eventually what stays with us are the trends that followed.

An upcoming trend this season is the denim jacket.   Denim is a way of life. Wearing a denim is always a good idea. Demin is like love, it’s always in. You don’t ever have to think twice it’s always in and on trend.

You can go for denim on denim look or pair the denim style with your dresses to create a retro boho look. I have created two unique summer style outfits with Fatface. Fatface is a great brand with outfits and clothes for life outside 9 to 5.

The first outfit is perfect for a summer stroll in the park and relaxing with your friends and family. I have paired an Abbie Rustic Aztec Dress with a denim jacket which is perfect for all the season round the year. You can pair this denim jacket with jeans, trousers or even your summery maxi dress. This flowy sleeveless dress is very flattering and perfect for this warm weather. I paired this outfit with brown strappy sandals which are perfect for long walks. The outfit is so breezy and comfortable. I can wear it even in my daily routine when I’m going out in the sun while exploring new things.

We all know that jeans are always a good idea. But twisting the idea of jeans and wearing a denim jacket brings my outfit in limelight. Not only making me comfortable, but this is helping me define the versatility of my dress paired with a denim jacket.

I paired this carefree look with a broken stripe is woven shopper bag. The bag is extremely handy and spacious enough for all your adventures throughout the day. The bag has a suede strap which adds an edgy look to the bag. If you are traveling or going out on a holiday then this is a must have bag.

Outfit Details:

The second fun and easy outfit for this holiday season is the lightweight textured Stella Cami. I have paired this classic and comfortable top with cropped jeans. These cropped jeans have a stylish fit which is great for hiking or an outdoor date. If you really want to experiment, you can wear vibrant color pants which would make your look completely different and will add a bit of funk to your outfits.

When exploring the city, I like to carry a few essential things like a sunscreen, scarf, sunglasses and more which I love to carry in a unique and spacious bucket bag. The bucket bag is a great addition to the wardrobe. It’s a mix of leather and has contrasting straw work.

Last but not the least the most important accessory for summer fashion is a stylish pair of sunglasses.  Sunglasses are a must have for this season. They become even important when you can’t be bothered to put your makeup on. And yes, life is short to wear boring glasses. Always carry a stylish pair of sunglasses. You never know, when you might need them. Whether you choose to go running, play tennis or simply just go window shopping these stylish outfits will be a great addition to your wardrobe.

Summer Days Perfect Partner – A Flowy Camisole Tops

As someone said, Life isn’t always perfect but your outfit can be. We should always make some investments in dressing up, because fashion may fade but it’s your style that invades peoples hearts and minds.

One good thing about wearing tops is that they are comfortable and easy to style, though I love to wear dresses in summer for the carefree look and casual days, I more often end up pairing tops with skirts, jeans or shorts to create different looks.

From everyday essentials to smart casuals, there are so many different types of styles, colors, patterns, and prints. Every season has its own different trends, pick the perfect look this season with this chic summer style trend. This trend is really good for your holiday season and festive looks, since Summer is all about breezy, flowy and romantic looks. Summers can be both lazy as well as fun loving. Surviving under the beneath of the sun can be difficult at times. Thus, it becomes important to dress

The vibrant colours, flowy materials, fun and quirky prints make summer fashion much more enjoyable. This spring summer season has been all about bearing your shoulder and adding statement sleeves to your summer outfits. You must have read my previous posts about the off shoulder trend. But a lot of people are not comfortable with this ongoing trend.

If you aren’t a fan of the cold shoulder but still want to show some skin and rock the summery look then I suggest you invest in a spaghetti style top this summer. I paired a yellow hankie hem camisole top with straight crop jeans. The straight crop jeans give structure to the outfit. The tasseled string tie on the top and side make the top look very chic and feminine. The I love the material of this bright yellow top.

The I love the material of this bright yellow top, it’s light and flowy which makes it great for summer. The flare under the bust makes the top look very flirty and cute. I am wearing strappy black heels which is comfortable and trendy as well. Completing this look are some of my matching accessories. Truly, accessories are like vitamins to your fashion statement and can help you make your look better. I would suggest that while buying something, always double think about the accessories.

Outfit Details:

This top is very versatile and a must have in your holiday wardrobe. Going on a beach vacay? Then pair this top with ripped denim shorts and flip flops. You can even throw on a jacket or a scarf for the chilly evenings. Sudden plans? Want to go out for a romantic date, don’t worry, This casual yet chic style is perfect for a day out or even a romantic date.

Have no doubt – London is one of the most beautiful cities in the summertime (when the sun finally decides to come out!) Whether you’re from the city and seeking out a staycation, or visiting from out of town and looking to live the London life for a few days, I highly recommend staying in one of the beautiful boutique hotels that the city has to offer. And trust me, the city has a lot of them now, so I understand that choosing one to stay at can be a difficult task. That’s why I’ve put together a quick list of my five favourite boutique hotels in London for you. Here we go!

Leman Locke

Looking for a relaxing oasis in the heart of London city? Leman Locke is the place to be. I had the pleasure of spending a weekend at this chic property over a weekend away in London, and can vouch for its many perks – the location is spot-on, the design is contemporary and sleek, the host of restaurants are constantly serving up delicious fare and the cultural program that brings people together in creative ways is truly stand-out.

Good Hotel

The first thing you will notice about The Good Hotel is its unique design – industrial yet contemporary, the hotel is set atop a redesigned floating platform with a great waterfront view, especially if you’re hanging out on the roof and enjoying some cocktails during sunset. I love the minimalist design and the rooms at The Good Hotel get it so right – simple yet sleek, comfortable yet contemporary, and full of every amenity you need to have a great stay.

Athenaeum Hotel

If you want a luxurious hotel experience while staying in one of the prime postcodes of London, this is the place to be. Though independent, Athenaeum Hotel offers an experience that can rival any of the popular five-star chains, but with the unique twist that comes with being an independent property. With rooms that are super cozy yet contemporary and a restaurant run by Michelin-starred chefs, The Athenaeum is truly a one-of-a-kind experience.

The Curtain

Looking to stay in a less commercial, more cultural, part of London? The Curtain in Shoreditch, London’s famous artsy neighbourhood, is a great option. The hotel is as creative as the neighbourhood itself – not only does it have the standard amenities and services that you would expect from any great hotel; it also has a live music venue!

The Ned

Situated in the heart of London, The Ned is ideal for those who want a modern experience but with a slice of history in it. After all, the building that houses the boutique hotel is a classic, designed by Sir Edwin ‘Ned’ Lutyens in 1924. Because of this, each bedroom at the hotel is full of design elements that are true to the twenties and thirties, along with great vintage pieces, gorgeous patterned furnishings, and rainforest showers. Be sure to check out Ned’s Club, where you can take in the view, go for a swim and have a cocktail at Canopy Bar afterward.
