I love those lazy summer days, walking barefoot on the crisp lawn and laying down in the shade. Summers in the UK are short but when the sun is out I love to make the most of it. Just slather on some sunscreen, pack a picnic, and enjoy the popsicles and ice cream while enjoying the sun. If you follow me on Instagram you will know that I am crazy about farms, parks and greenery. I love nature and enjoy being outdoors when the weather is good. This season I have made it a point to visit some of the most beautiful farms around the UK. I must say I had tons of fun with my family.
Last year I visited Manor Farm Fruits for a Pick Your Own Fruit Picnic. This is a very popular British summer activity for families and kids. Here you visit farms which produce fruits and are open to welcome visitors to let them pick their own fruit and vegetables fresh from the field. These usually include strawberries, raspberry, blackberries and gooseberries. Summer season mainly falls in the month of July and but fruits like blueberry are harvested towards the end of August or September. This farm is close to Birmingham, and I had such a great time last time I was here that I made a point to visit them this summer as well.
Apart from this, they have a small café and a play area for kids. The best part of this activity is that you get to take fresh fruits back home and make yummy puddings, smoothies, and jams with it. Usually, the farms provide baskets or containers to pick the produce. There are signposts to spot the crops. And you weigh the produce and are charged per kg for the fruit. When going to a farm, its best to wear something which is very comfortable. You also tend to get a bit dirty when picking fruits. You can’t enjoy fully if you are too worried about getting dirty. I paired my cropped distressed denim with a striped cold shoulder top and white sneakers. The cold shoulder has been in style for quite a while and I absolutely love this trend. I love how my outfit contrasts with the strawberries I have picked out.

When talking about English Summer the lavender fields are the most popular attraction.
They start blooming from mid-July. I visited the Cotswold Lavender Fields in Broadway England. You can enjoy a lovely sunset overlooking the lavender fields. It’s just like starring in your own Hollywood movie. The minute you step into the lavender fields you are overwhelmed by the fragrance of lavender. I love the fragrance of lavender as it is very soothing and relaxing. The fields are absolutely stunning and are surrounded by rolling hills, trees and clear blue skies. They even have their own café which offers a unique culinary experience.
You can enjoy some Earl Gray Lavender Tea or even some Lavender Chocolate. Apart from a quaint café they also have a lavender oil processing unit. Apart from essential oil, they even have soaps, diffusers, bath salts and more. They have something to tempt everyone.
The last spot on my bucket list this year was the Real Flower Confetti Farm in Worcester. They are open to the public for 10 days in the summer and it’s a little far away from the city but the trip is worth it. The farm has acres of delphiniums and cornflowers bloom. The flowers only bloom for a few short weeks in the month of July. It’s a spectacular experience to wander alongside the chromatic flowers. The sun-kissed flowers, winding paths and walkways are situated along the Brendon Hill.
It’s one of the most Instagramable countryside views you could ask for. You can enjoy a day with your family or go on a romantic date. The sun-drenched farm fills up your heart with the aroma of the flowers. I enjoyed the day wandering and enjoying the sunset while soaking in the colours. You can take pictures and enjoy some delicious tea, coffee and locally made cakes in The Confetti Café. They even sell natural Confetti Flowers which you can take back as a souvenir. All their orders are handpicked and packed for utmost personalization. The flower blooms are highly dependent on the weather.
So I suggest you check with the farm before planning a trip. When visiting a farm it is best to wear something breezy and comfortable. I recommend wearing appropriate footwear and shades or a hat as there is very little shade in the field. Also, don’t forget to apply a lot of sunscreen for when it’s sunny. I wore a hush summer dress with prints and lace detailing. I paired the subtle dress with a boho necklace from my upcoming line. The necklace adds a bright pop of colour to my outfit and looks fab with the colourful flowers surrounding me. I completed the look with some quirky accessories to match my outfits like a cocktail ring and bracelets. I am so glad that I could visit this place before they closed for the summer.
