My OOTD Looks For The Season

As we step into the New Year, my mantra for the season is looking good and feeling good. And there’s nothing better than layering when it comes to flaunting my best OOTD looks in the freezing London winters. I have some serious outfit inspirations for my followers, with some mix and match ideas from my current wardrobe to create the most amazing outfits without a lot of effort. Here are some of the best OOTD looks that I would recommend for the season!

Jumper scarf with belt

With this OOTD, I simply experimented with my scarf’s drape and wow….I was surprised with my own creativity! I draped a bright orange tasseled scarf over my jumper and secured it with a broad black leather belt for an absolutely novel style. An ordinary outfit taken to the next level, isn’t it? And the best thing is that it accentuates your waistline.

Dress with jacket

My next OOTD is a quintessential LBD teamed with a gorgeous green puffer jacket, an outfit that you can carry as effortlessly at work as on a casual outing. Just hunt your wardrobe and I’m sure that you’ll find these pieces without much work. I paired the outfit with a pair of ankle-length boots and a black hat to keep me extra cozy.

Summer dress with jumper

This is the time of the year when I yearn to dress up in my favorite summer dresses but they still have to wait for a few months. Or don’t they….with this OOTD, I decided that I’ll not wait for the sunny days to be back as I layered my favorite, bright red summer dress with a warm boxy jumper. So fashionistas, let’s get inspired by this OOTD and find those flowing summer dresses in our closets!

Sleeveless dress with high turtleneck

And this one, I would say, is my favorite as it carried me with all the grace and glamour that is needed for a formal event. And creating this ultra-chic evening attire was as easy as slipping on a sleeveless black dress over a blue high turtleneck. The OOTD kept me super-warm and fetched some incredible complements as well.

3 Ways to Style Your Winter Coat This Season

From bold prints to classic cuts, we have been spoilt this season with options for our staple winter coats. We all rely on our coats to get us through the frost, snow, wind and rain that winter brings, but practicality doesn’t have to mean plain and boring. The runways have been rife with stunning statement pieces that have got all stylists in a spin. Here are 3 top tips for styling your winter coat this season.

  • Accessorize!

No matter what your dress sense, there are accessories to suit every style this season.

If you prefer a more reserved look and usually opt for classic coats such as the timeless trench, pair it with a stylish designer bag to ooze elegance. In the daytime, opt for a tote bag as they are ideal for throwing everything into whilst running errands! In the evening, style your winter coat with a classic clutch.

If your go-to is a staple denim or leather jacket, accessorize with bright and bold beanie hats and scarves. The pom beanie is everywhere this season, and there is a huge range of colours and knits to suit everyone. Not only will they keep you warm, but they will also keep you on trend too!

  • Be Bold

Prints have made a huge comeback this season. Leopard, zebra, tiger and snake prints have been spotted across the runways. The bolder the better. Yes, for some, it can feel like a tricky task to keep print tasteful not tacky. But don’t be afraid as there are so many ways of incorporating prints into your winter coat style!

If you want to play with this trend without going head to toe in print, style a classic coat with print accessories. This can be anything from sunglasses, hats, bags, scarves and shoes. This season, you are guaranteed to find pretty much anything in animal print.

If you want to make a statement, why not opt for an animal print coat? Victoria Beckham’s AW18 collection championed a fitted leopard print chenille coat and it is simply stunning! There are so many to choose from to suit any budget. Happy shopping!

  • Switch it Up

The winter season is long. We wear our coats every day, and it’s easy to feel like we are in a rut, chucking the same coat on every morning as we are rushing out of the house.

There are ways to switch up your staple coat to create a different look for any occasion. Why not grab a belt from your wardrobe and tie it round the waist? It will completely change the look of your coat, synch you in at the waist and give you an effortlessly feminine silhouette.

Or why not flash some flesh by rolling up the sleeves and showing off your favourite statement jewellery or watch.

No matter what your style, there are so many wonderful winter trends to try this season.

Winter Jumper Outfit Inspiration

Winter might be ending soon, but the nip in the air is still making it the perfect weather to adorn some cool bright jumpers in style. In particular, I am an avid fan of jumpers, because they are one of the most versatile pieces to style, and can easily be dressed up or down to suit the occasion. This winter, I decided to push the boundaries and play around with some fun and new ways to style a jumper.

The first look is not as much about how you style the jumper as it is about what type of jumper you select. In gloomy weather, it is instinctive to turn to a darker palette of navy blue, black and grey, but I urge you to try something different – perhaps, a pop of colour to brighten up the day? For this look, I brightened up good old jeans and black t-shirt combination with a vibrant yellow jumper from SheIn.

The chunky, oversized style of the jumper gave the ensemble an effortlessly stylish feel, and I finished it off with a bright pink scarf to cut through the yellow and tie the look together. The rest of my look – shoes, accessories and makeup – was kept purposefully simple. I wanted the colour palette to do the talking. And it did.

Shein – Drop Shoulder Lantern Sleeve Slit Textured Cardigan

Usually, when the winter rolls around, we pack away our summer staples and push them to the back of our closet, only to bring them out again when the cold weather is truly behind us.

For my second look, I started to think about how I might incorporate a summer staple into a winter ensemble – layering was my answer! I threw on one of my favourite summer dresses – a beautiful yellow piece with a gorgeous floral print – over a pair of trusty blue jeans. But there was no way I could step out onto the street with my arms bare in this freezing weather!

And so, I slipped into a cosy jumper, which finished off the look in style. I deliberately chose a more muted maroon shade with a very simple pattern, so that the jumper would not clash with the summer dress I was sporting below it. Not only does this look make a great style statement; it also enables you to mix and match for new outfits, without breaking the bank.

Shein – Boat Neck Striped Knitwear

If colours are not your cup of tea, that’s completely alright. You can still sport a neutral, even monochrome, outfit without looking boring. The trick is to play around with textures.

For my final look, I chose a grey colour palette – but wanted to create a look that was still exciting, with the jumper as the star attraction. So I opted for a grey jumper with a bold start print and paired it with a textured skirt, sheer stockings, a grey felt hat and my trusty booties.

Although most of the items were grey, their different shades and textures gave the outfit some extra oomph. I love a good pop of colour so I finished the look off with a vibrant handbag, but you could easily sport a chic leather bucket bag or tote instead.

Shein – Star Pattern Boat Neck Sweater

The next time you wear a jumper, think of it as a central part of your outfit rather than something that is obscuring it. Play around with prints, colours, sizes and textures – the possibilities are endless!

Winter Dressing with Fatface

Florals, funky prints and vibrant colours take centre stage for the summer wardrobe. Gray’s, black and blues become our dreaded winter style. This makes the winter wardrobe very monotonous. With winter truly here in London, my warm bed and the fireplace has become a very difficult place to leave, especially when you hate the idea of dressing up in lumpy and oversized sweaters.  This winter makes your winter style effortless and fun by adding some chic pieces to your wardrobe.

Outfit Details:

Winter wear doesn’t have to be boring. You can add a ton of colour, layers and textures to amp up your outfit. I put together an effortlessly chic outfit this season with FatFace. When it comes to picking out your winter wardrobe, there are a few essentials like jackets and boots which you cannot ignore. I threw on a Poppy short puffer jackets with charcoal grey five pocket jeggings and colour block jumper.

The puffer jacket is a thick jacket with a super soft detachable Borg collar. This cosy jacket is perfect for when the temperature starts to drop. Jeggings are a chic alternative to your jeans this winter. The slim fit jeggings are easy to wear and come in stylish shades like charcoal and amethyst. I added a pop of colour to my outfit with the cashmere colour block jumper in grey and pink. The jumper is unbelievably soft with a relaxed fit which makes it easier to layer with any piece of clothing in your wardrobe. Another essential element in your winter wardrobe is boots. I finished my outfit with beautiful Oake Heel Ankle Boots in Navy. The ankle boots are made of luxurious nubuck leather and a chunky wooden heel. You can effortlessly pop these over your favourite pair of skinny jeans or jeggings and strut around the town in style.

I love warm and deep tones in my winter wardrobe. One of my favourite shades this winter is mauve. Get cosy this winter with a casual dress from FatFace. I paired the Aurora 2 in 1 Knitted Dress with stocking and ankle length boots. This double layered dress in the shade aubergine is different. It comes in 2 separate parts; a long sleeve jumper and a sleeveless dress. This dress can be worn is so many different ways. You can wear the sleeveless dress with any other jacket or coat in your wardrobe or pair it with the matching jumper. You can also layer the jumper with a pair of skinnies and boots.

I love the super soft fabric of this casual dress. Another interesting element of this outfit is the back. The jumper has a flattering split which makes it very fashionable. You can wear this on a day out shopping or even for work. I accessorized the outfit with a chunky beaded necklace and a tote bag.

Romance is in the air – Valentine’s Day Fun and Jacket Styling Tips

Whether in Love or out of Love, most of us have a love or hate relationship with Valentine’s Day. The true notion for those few days in run up to Valentine’s day is literally “Romance is in the air” with the window displays, the malls and all the markets being over the top decorated with Romantic gifts or symbols that represent Romance.

For me this day is special too and I treat this day as an opportunity to thank God for all the “Love” he has blessed me with in this life and here is a post to share my own created outfit for a wintery romantic date – to keep up with the spirits of Feb & coming season of Spring.

When it comes to winter fashion it always ends up being choosing between staying warm or fashionable. But you can stay fashionable and warm by playing with your winter wardrobe.

The main ingredient for a super chic look is a warm jacket. A jacket can make or break any outfit. Jackets are super comfortable and great for layering too. So if you are looking for some inspiration on how to mix it up with jackets or give your boring jackets a new life then look no further. Check out these winter styling outfits which are perfect and cute for the cold weather and would keep you winter ready.

Jackets and scarves are great for winter. You can create so many fun looks with them. Invest in a statement jacket to stand out this season. Ditch the neutrals for a vibrant red coat or a textured faux fur jacket. Mix and match different textures in your outfit by pairing an oversized scarf with a mid length faux fur jacket, knee length boots, jeans and a plain white tee for a day out with your friends or Friday wear at work.

Brighten up a gloomy day with a vibrant jacket. I have paired my Color Block Collarless Hidden Button Coat from Shein with a pair of jeans a casual light blue top and a burgundy sling bag. I kept my accessories to a bare minimum as I wanted the jacket to be the hero of the outfit.  Hats can also enhance your look plus it keeps you warm and is your best friend if you are having a bad hair day.

Jackets are also great for office wear. On your day off go for a casual denim on denim look by pairing your favourite denim jacket with a cosy white tee, ripped denim and slip on shoes.

Winter Outfit Styling Tips

There’s something about the winters that makes you fall in love with the season. The hot cocoa, snuggly nights by the fire place, Christmas, the snow and winter wear which makes the season special. But winter fashion can be tricky. You can easily look like a mess or freeze to death if you don’t get your outfit right. Many of us sometime think that winter fashion is boring and you have to replace your cute floral dresses with grey and dull sweaters. But winter fashion can also be interesting with a few tips and tricks. This winter let’s transform your winter wardrobe with these styling tips:
Skinny Jeans: Skinny Jeans are a must have for this season as they are extremely versatile, keep you warm and give a slender look to your outfit. Be it ripped or leather, one can never go wrong with skinny jeans. Team up a pair of skinny jeans with ankle booties and a cashmere sweater for a casual look. Skinny jeans or straight cut pants also look great with oversized coats without making your outfit look bulky. If you prefer wide legged pants then opt for a more structured coat and wedges for a chic look.

Wrap/Scarves: Wraps and Scarves can be your best friend this season. They can make any outfit stylish and fun in minutes. So invest in a variety of colorful and textured wraps and scarves. Also don’t be afraid to experiment with the different styles of wearing a scarf. Make the scarf the hero of the outfit by looping it around a plain black dress and transform your look.

Boots: Boots are a must have this season. Ankle boots are great for daily wear; you can pair them with almost any outfit. Be it a maxi dress and a jacket or turtleneck top and skinny jeans. Over the knee boots are also extremely stylish. Pair them with a printed skirt, a knitted dress or even over your skinny jeans for a trendy look.

Turtlenecks: Turtlenecks are great for winters. They keep you warm and can be worn for office wear as well as casual wear. Tuck in a turtleneck top with your favorite pair of trousers and a well fitted blazer with loafers for a stylish office look. You can also wear it by itself with a pair of jeans and some long necklaces for everyday wear.

Leather Jacket: A leather jacket is a wardrobe essential. Create a biker girl look by teaming it up with a pair of knee length boots, skinny jeans, and a graphic tee. Or pair it over a floral dress for a cool and casual look. You can invest in a basic black jacket or opt for colors like brown, tan, maroon or camel.

Jumpers: Cashmere jumpers are vital for winter. You can dress them up or down easily during the season. They are also extremely versatile, classy and look great with jeans, midi skirts, or dresses. For a formal look wear it with a collared shirt, a pair of trousers and a trench coat. You can also wear them with jeans, a statement bag and peep-toe ankle boots. For windy days you can team it up with a wrap to keep yourself warm.

Hats: Hats are like scarves. They add an element of fun to your outfit instantly. They can transform a boring black sweater to something chic if paired correctly. Team up a beanie with a formal dress, a trench coat and heels for office or pair a fedora with wide legged pants, loafers and a cashmere sweater for relaxed look.

Suede Dresses: Suede, Wool or velvet are the fabrics of the season. Style a suede dress with a cropped jacket, ankle length booties, leg warmers or stockings and a fedora hat for a boho look. You can also invest in suede or velvet skirts in bright hues like red, blue or maroon and create fun looks.

Statement Coat: Add a pop of color to your neutral wardrobe by investing in a statement coat. They can be oversized in vibrant hues like pink, orange or red or be textured and in neutral shades like black and grey. I have created a look with my statement coat by teaming it up with a pastel pink blouse, straight cut jeans and peep-toe boots for a casual look.

New Year Outfit Inspiration

New Year is all about a new beginning, moving forward, resolutions, dreams and hopes. But New Year also means party, time to celebrate the present and enjoy. I love the holiday season and love to end the year with a bang. I have always been enthusiastic about New Years Eve. Even as a kid, I loved to go to parties or gatherings. So every year I would look forward to my New Year plan with much excitement, I guess it was the shopping that got me most pumped up about the whole day. I would start looking for my outfit almost a month in advance.

Since New Year is something big for me, so is my dressing for the event. It’s such a glamorous event that I need my outfit to show my excitement. So for me sequins, sparkle or glitter in some form is a must. Also, it is apt for New Year since the parties are at night and everyone is dressed to impress.  I prefer wearing bright colours over a usual black dress. You instantly stand out in the crowd with a little pop of colour.

So I guess by now you guys must have realised how excited I get about New Years. But I get even happier when I find the perfect outfit for this day. For years I have worn a dress more a less, so this year I wanted to wear something totally different and break the monotony. After hunting for an outfit for over 10-15 days I choose a lovely sequined top and a high-low skirt from Coast. It’s been a task for me to find this outfit since I’m a very selective person.

It’s a short capped sleeve sequined top in tones of blue and purple which teams up perfectly with the glamorous high-low skirt. Usually, if you purchase a fancy dress for New Year, then you don’t really get enough occasions to wear it again. But this outfit is extremely versatile. The top can be paired with jeans and even with lehenga or saree. I might do a fun post on this later. Just keep an eye out for this 🙂 and the skirt is so pretty that it will make a great addition to my cocktail wardrobe. I am pairing up the pieces with a silver clutch and silver high heels.

But if you are someone who doesn’t like to wear a sequined outfit then you can have some sparkle in your accessories like a clutch or hat. You can also pair a sequined mini skirt with a solid coloured blouse. Sequins can get tricky. To avoid looking like a shiny disco ball make sure that you don’t wear sequins from top to bottom. Let one item in your outfit be the hero.

I’m all set with my New Year outfit, so stay around to get a glimpse of my look and find out where and how I spent my new years eve…it’s a little hush hush for now.

Outfit Inspiration For Office During Winters

Mornings are the toughest, especially winter mornings. You don’t want to get out of your warm, cosy blanket and let alone decide what you need to wear to work in the freezing temperature. Choosing between fashion and warmth gets a little difficult and then you just end up wearing the same jacket for most of the season and hating your work wear which makes getting up in the morning even less motivating.boden-style-4If you want to know how not to dress boring for work, then check out my outfit inspiration for office wear this winter. These styles and tips will keep you looking chic and confident to handle any situation fashionably this season.

I have created a classic professional look with a jacquard blazer and a silk blend top. I got the Kate Ponte Jacquard Blazer from Boden for my work wear wardrobe. It is a classic single-breasted jacket in navy blue with double pockets and a back split. The jacket is comfortable, stylish and has a good fabric. Plus navy blue is a basic colour which almost goes on everything, and since the fabric is thick, it is suitable for cold weather. This jacket is great for casual wear or work wear, depending on how to team it up. I teamed it up with a Ravello top from Boden as well. With pleated neckline and cap sleeves, this top is a relaxed and feminine piece. It works well with a tucked in look. I paired the top and the coat with skinny jeans and platform courts. You can also wear boots or heels. But I personally prefer platform shoes since they are more comfortable without comprising on the heel. For a formal look, you can even pair the coat and the top with a dark blue pencil skirt and heels.boden-style-8

Apart from this look, you can also think about blazers in warm fabrics like leather, velvet, or jacquard. Make your trousers more fun by going for jacquard or wool pants. They are warm, comfortable and stylish. Team them with your favourite cashmere sweater or a regular shirt and a long coat, and you are good to go. You don’t have to wear trousers or pants you can also go for a jacquard or knit dress and team it with leg warmers or slim pants.  Shirt dresses or jumpers also look great with slim trousers. You can switch from your heels to ankle boots for more comfort during the harsh winters. If you want to dress up like a girl boss, then team up a silk blouse with a pencil skirt, knee high boots in suede with a knit scarf. Stick to sharp styles and mix and match different pieces in your wardrobe like a midi dress with a turtleneck sweater for a fashionable look. If you are going for a basic look in neutral shades, then you can add some statement accessories like a hat, bag or jewellery to make your outfit pop.

Winter Outfit Inspiration – to get You Season Ready

With the temperatures dropping, it’s time to remove your warm fuzzy winter wear like coats, sweaters, and mufflers.  There are so many textures you can play with and looks you can create by layering up pieces in winter.1-fashionforroyals-20One of the most essential items in every wardrobe is a statement long coat. They are extremely comfortable, warm and stylish. A statement coat can be textured, colorful, or printed. There are also different lengths, cuts and styles available. I own a beautiful textured coat in a steel grey colour thanks to Fatface!

Long coats look great in pastel shades, earthy tones like maroon and camel or vibrant hues like pink or red. I added some color in my outfit by pairing the neutral shade coat with a pastel pink top. I wanted a casual everyday look so I didn’t tuck in my top. For a formal look you can even pair the coat with a tucked in blouse. 5-fashionforroyals-26

Since my coat is oversized I paired it with skinny jeans. Peep-toe ankle boots are in this season. On warmers days they are a great option instead of peep-toe pumps. For my look I created soft waves and kept my makeup more natural looking with pink lips to match my outfit. If it is an extremely oversized coat then you can also clasp a belt around your waist to make it more form fitting.

But long coats should not be restricted to skinny jeans and shirt. You can also style a long coat in vibrant colors with a midi dress in black, leg warmers and heels or boots. You can also team up a pencil skirt and a blouse with a long coat. This outfit is great for office, meetings, and formal events. If your outfit is bold and colorful you can match it with a neutral colored long coat to balance out the shades. You can also play a little with your outfit by wearing cropped jeans, shirt and a long coat with block pumps.  You can also layer up the coat with a turtle neck top, ripped jeans and a beanie cap with loafers for a chic look.2-fashionforroyals-22
