Say Hello to Spring in Style

Say Hello to Spring in Style

With the Spring-spun bonanza of merry sunshine, blooming flowers, and fresh fragrances comes an endless stream of sartorial inspiration. I love experimenting with trending Spring styles and try to incorporate my personal fashion preferences into every look. Here’s a list of my favourite Spring trends – read on for some Spring-fashion winners!

Frills Dress

Outfit Featured from Very.co.uk

The youthful vibrancy of frilly clothing is a perfect match to Spring-time merriment. Though some ladies avoid frilly clothing, fearing it may have them looking silly, if you style them right, rocking those frills is a cake walk. For my Spring frills look, I teamed up a black frilly dress with flat leather boots and statement earrings. The dark color of the dress and the minimalist accessorizing created an outfit that’s perfect for day outings as well as evening events. The final effect is cheery and youthful; perfectly reflecting the Spring season’s glory.

Jeans Jacket

Outfit Featured from Fatface.com

I love denim fabric and when in jacket-form, it’s even more delectable. Jeans jackets have made a comeback this season, and I’m loving it! You can wear jeans jackets as comfy accessories to dresses, jeans, shorts, and skirts. My go-to style is pairing a sleeveless jeans jacket with a printed dress or skirt to add depth to the outfit. The contrast of uber-feminine clothes with rugged denim accessories is bold, beautiful, and great for the inner-boho-diva in you.

Culottes

Culottes are Spring-fashion’s favourite child. They never go out of fashion and re-invent themselves year after year. Casual and comfy, culottes are a great option for daytime outings and informal evening dos. You can go in for printed or embroidered culottes for charming, feminine ensemble. For a more bold, androgynous look, go in for dark-hued, plain or striped pieces. Pair them with fitted tops for a morning outing and jumpers/jackets for evening-wear.

Star Print

Outfit Featured from Hush-uk.com

Floral motifs are Spring staples, but this year, the stars have taken over! The star print is trending and I’m all for it. In my starry look, I’m sporting a grey jumper with a huge star applique on the front. But there’s are loads of other options to choose from. Small-starry prints are great for flowy dresses and strappy blouses. Mid-sized colourful prints are great for quirky top and bottom wear. Large or single-print stars (like the one on my jumper) create a striking yet casual statement effortlessly. So find your kind of star print and have some fun with it!

Jeans with Statement Lining

Jeans from Hush-Uk.com

One would think that innovating with jeans is something of a lost cause. Everything’s been done, from funky colours and cuts, to embellishments and rips. But there’s a new trend brewing and it’s statement lining. The lining on jeans’ sides have become head-turning stylistics this Spring season. I’m wearing a pair with darkened and chafed lining for a casual, chic look. I’ve spotted several other interesting statement lining styles too. Beaded, pearl lining looks wonderful, as do embroidered and sequined linings. I’m sure to pick up some more denim with statement lining soon. What about you?

Floral Headbands

In the accessories department, one of the fascinating trends is of the floral headband. While a few years, floral motifs were a go-to for Spring clothes, shoes, and bags, they’re now oft used in hair accessories too. Floral headbands are a feminine quick-fix for any outfit. Yes, they’re not the easiest to pull off, but channel your inner princess and you’re good to go. I’ve worn floral headbands to daytime outings such as brunches and picnic. But you could also experiment with them as party accessories.

Belted Suits

If you’re wondering about some desi trends for this Spring season, I feel belted suits are quite charming. Blending a traditional style with western stylistics perfectly captures the essence of the modern woman. Team up a classic leather belt with a floor-length kurta and watch the magic happen! This fusion look is sure to win you many compliments, as it did for me. I wore a brown twisted-leather belt with a blue, printed kurta and matching dupatta. The brilliant sunshine and noontime beauty was the perfect accessory to my elegant belted suit.

Statement Jackets

Jackets are a great accessory all year ‘round. But wear them in Spring season and you’re bound to invite a lot of attention. I prefer to wear jackets that are off-beat in their stylistics – that makes you stand out from the crowd. I have a whole section of my wardrobe just for jackets and have put them to good use to beat the Spring-time chills. I’ve enjoyed wearing long printed jackets, short embroidered ones, and also some sleeveless styles. The point is to use jackets as elegant accessories to an otherwise simple ensemble. Yes, they bring the jazz to the outfit!

Crop Tops

Crop tops have arrived in a big, big way. They have been topping the chic charts since last year and Spring is just the time to whip them out. Ending just below the abdomen, allowing scintillating peeks at the midriff, crop tops can be fashioned to suit all kinds of looks for almost any occasion. Since summer has not hit us yet, I’ve been wearing longer crop-tops that do not expose the belly yet. They look great with jeans and skirts, and effortlessly stylish no matter what the occasion is.

Floral Prints

This is most certainly a no-brainer. Spring fashion and florals are a match made in heaven. Floral prints are one of those classic styles that I never want to shun. I love the delicate femininity that such motifs bring out in all kinds of clothing. While wearing floral tops, bottoms, and dresses, is rather familiar, if you want to experiment, go ahead and put on some floral accessories. Wear floral scarves, jackets, or even socks. You could also sport handbags, clutches, and hats with floral prints, to try something new. Simply put, if it’s springtime, you can’t go wrong with floral prints.

Statement Shoes

Nothing says fashion-forward like a pair of well-crafted shoes. If you want to make a statement with your Spring attire, make sure to stock up on some beautiful statement pieces that are hard to miss. I’ve got myself a pair of floral-print sneakers which perfectly complement my casual outfits. I’ve also been wearing a pair of silver brogues quite often, on account of their versatility. They go with casual as well as formal outfits and are quite the eyeball grabber, I must say. If you, too, want to Spring to be a fashion feast for you, do stock up on some statement shoes this season. You’ll not regret it!

So, here I’ve listed out my most favoured Spring trends. How about you lovely ladies? What have you been wearing in Spring 2018? Do share!

Spring Summer Accessories Trend

Trends and fashion keeps changing multiple times each year. Sometimes it gets tricky to keep up. But we’ve got you covered for this spring summer 2017 key accessories trend. This spring summer is all about experimenting and having fun, especially when it comes to accessories. From big chunky earrings to eccentric headbands, when it comes to accessories for spring 2017 it’s either go big or go home. There are a few key pieces this season which are a must have for every wardrobe.

  1. Satchel Bag: When it comes to satchel bags ditch the simple solid coloured bag with a gold chain. Go for hippie prints or tassels. Micro bags are also in this season. If you don’t like to carry a big bag then go for an embellished micro bag.
  1. Floral headband: There is something about flowers and spring. One is incomplete without the other. So a floral headband is a must in your spring collection. The floral headbands are elegant, ultra feminine and make for a great statement piece. Plus it looks so cute on everyone. You can even wear it for a music concert or Sunday brunch with your friends. It has a very boho, beachy and relaxed vibe.
  1. Glasses: Summer is incomplete without your sunglasses. If you are going for a boho look opt for round frames like John Lennon. Colourful aviators and quirky glasses are in this season.
  1. Strappy Sandals: Stilettos, boots and flip flops are not practical for everyday. Boots are more of winter wear, I prefer wearing stilettos for work or party and flip flops are very beachy. So invest in a pair of comfy strappy sandals. They look great with a skirt, a maxi or a mini dress, shorts and even your jeans and top. You can go for basic colours like black or brown, but do have one or two pairs in some trendy colour like silver, gold or pink.
  1. Boho Jewelry: It’s time to get your inner boho diva out! Buy some colourful chunky jewellery and beaded necklaces. They look great when paired with a maxi outfit or even a loose blouse and jeans.
  1. Boho Bags: Bohemian is all about freedom, femininity, colors and style. There are different types of boho bags you can invest in based on your style. Tassels are still in this season, if you love the trend then pick out a fringed bucket bag. If you prefer tote bags then go for a colourful printed cotton or jute bag. If you want to go bold this season then go for a printed bag with embellishments like pom-poms or mirrors to stand out. Let the bag be the star of the outfit by pairing it with a plain white dress or shorts and a t-shirt.
  1. Scarf: Evenings can get a bit chilly even in spring. A vibrant colourful scarf will keep you warm and at the same time make your casual outfit standout. When it comes to scarves the ways in which you can pair them are unimaginable. You can even use a scarf as a cool headband.

What are you waiting for? It’s time to get your wardrobe spring-ready!

Spring Sneaker Trend Alert

The Spring Season brings in new trends which we are dying to try and explore once the winter ends and the spring starts. The weather is finally getting warmer and more enjoyable. Now that we are heading into spring, we need some transition in our wardrobe too. Luckily it’s going to be a comfortable season for our feet. Sneaker is the ultimate shoe for your wardrobe this spring.

Plus what’s not to love about this trend. Sneakers are comfortable, versatile, practical, stylish and you can never have too many of them. I have always been someone who loves flat sandals, sneakers, or low block heels over stilettos which kills me by the end of the day.

From the midi dress to the classic t-shirt and jeans combo, sneakers look good with everything. Team them up your white low top sneakers with a floral maxi dress for a quick boho look. You can play around with your outfit by adding a few chunky bracelets or a belt around the waist. Give the traditional sneaker a twist by getting sneakers with a little glitter, emojis, embellishments, leopard print, logo or satin updates to effortlessly dress up an outfit.

Pair up your statement sneakers with ripped cropped jeans and an oversized knit jumper for a stylish look. Go for an all-white look by teaming a white turtle neck top with cropped white pants and low top white sneakers to make a statement this season. You can even pair the classic slip on shoes with playful prints with a maxi skirt and a neutral shade silk blouse for a coffee date with friends. Sneakers can also be worn at work. Team up a turtle neck sweater with a high-waisted pencil skirt and a suede jacket with sneakers in a neutral shade.

I also love to pair sneakers with baggy knit jumpers. It’s the ultimate cosy combination. You can tuck in an oversized knitted jumper with a pleated midi skirt or keep it casual with a high waisted pencil skirt and a pair of sandals for a classy street style look.

I teamed my Yellow Ribbed Lantern Sleeve Loose Knitwear from Romwe with a pair of washed jeans and low top white sneakers for a casual yet chic look. I added a chunky beaded necklace to my outfit to take it up a notch. The colours in my outfit are pretty basic and neutral, so I wore red lips to add some fun to my final look.If you have a long baggy knit jumper, then you can even pair it with tights and metallic sneaker for a night out in town with your girls. For a classic look, pair a knit sweat over a plaid shirt and jeans with low top sneakers and a tote bag. Now that you know how to get comfy this spring, its time to go out and experiment with casual and stylish looks this season.

Scarves the Best Accessory to Style Outfits – Spring Season Outfit Post

Winter is finally coming down to its pleasantness, and in the fashion world, we are all geared up with the spring trends for 2017. Spring Summer Runway trends are bold and confident this year with metallic effects, bold lines and bright colours. Winter wear can get boring with the grey’s, blacks and blues. But you can break the monotony in your wardrobe by adding some vibrant accessories like a scarf, clutch, chunky bracelets, layered chains and more.

During this season when it’s chilly outside, I prefer adding a colourful or textured scarf to make the outfit fun. They are soft, warm and extremely cosy. Scarves are so versatile, and one can get them in all types of prints, colours and lengths. And the best bit is that there are endless ways one can wear them as. Replace it for a necklace or wear it as a headgear, a scarf is one of those things which can change your entire look.

You can layer it with your favourite jacket by tucking it inside the jacket and pairing it with your super skinny jeans and boots. If you are feeling lazy, then you can just toss it around your neck for a casual look. You can add contrasting colours by pairing a blue jacket with a vibrant red scarf, or you can play around with prints by adding a floral scarf over a solid-colored jumpsuit.

I created two looks from the scarves I got from Fatface. I love their scarves; they are great quality, soft and pretty. I paired a cable jumper in Ganache colour with dark blue jeggings also from Fatface with a brushed stripe mid-weight scarf. I draped the scarf around my shoulders for a casual look. This look is great when it’s cold outside. It’s oversized and thick, so it keeps me warm plus it’s super soft, so it feels great around your neck. I wore day-time smokey eyes with a lot of khol and a muted lipstick. You can even pair this scarf with a maxi dress. For a structured look wear a belt around your waist and drape the scarf around your shoulders for a day out.For my second look, I paired my two part floral spot snood scarf with my jumper and skinny jeans. This is a lightweight scarf which is stylish and perfect for spring. I wrapped the scarf around my neck in a double loop and kept it mid-length. In the double loop style, you loop the scarf twice around your neck and tie the loose ends under the loop for a structured look. You can see both the prints when you loop it like this; it keeps your hands free, it looks stylish plus it’s super easy.

I have intentionally kept the outfit the same, but you can see each scarf has made my outfit look different. Scarves can instantly change ones outfit and you don’t have to worry about wearing the same look again and again, as you play with textures and prints in scarves

Bring the Colour on – “Be Colourful” with Joe Browns this Spring Summer

Spring is already here and with summer just around the corner, I am very excited to explore new fashion trends this season. I believe that this is the perfect time of the year to experiment with new styles and let your own unique personality shine through. I, myself, love spring day dresses and long flowy skirts a lot, and thus the hunt for some new, chic outfits has already begun.

Joe-Browns-Be-Colourful-3

The current outfit I am adorning is from Joe Brown’s Spring-Summer Collection called Live a Colourful Life. Living up to its name, this collection has beautiful, uber-feminine pieces in light, summery fabrics and bright, colourful shades. The classic styling and vibrant hues make these clothes ideal for elaborate ensembles wherein you add in a touch of your own personality with accessories and makeup. I really like Joe Brown’s work and thus decided to treat myself to a lovely summer dress from their 2016 collection.

Joe-Browns-Be-Colourful-4

The dark pink floral Dragonfly Dress is inspired by these graceful winged creatures in Papagayo. The knee-length, semi-circular fall of the bodice and cotton jersey fabric make it a good choice for both day and night and can easily be transformed from day outfit to a sexy evening look. When I wore this dress, I teamed it with a statement necklace, beaded bracelet, and a matching pair of clutch purse and cardigan to cover up when the weather gets chilly which if you live in UK is bound to happen often. The day when I was wearing this dress the sun was shining in spite of the current chill in the weather hence you can see me wearing my favourite shades as well, it was hard to keep my eyes open against the sun.  And remember colourful outfits can brighten a glum day and bring more colour to your cheeks, so don’t be afraid to experiment with colours this season – “Be Colourful & Cheerful”

Joe-Browns-Be-Colourful-2

So, how did you like this outfit? And what are you wearing this spring? I would love to know, so don’t hesitate to share your views!

Joe-Browns-Be-Colourful

Summer Style Tip – When wearing bold colours, make sure you have a few statement pieces paired along with it like jewellery or any other accessory and one keep it limited to just bold colour in the outfit. Let the colour and clothing stand out by choosing accessories that complement and don’t overshadow it.

Spring is Here – Vacation Outfit Inspiration

Spring is one of the most beautiful seasons of the year, when flowers bloom, gentle warmth embraces you and finally we all kiss the chilly winters goodbye. Those lovely coats and boots get pushed to the back of your wardrobe and your summery outfits come right out.

02-archana-monsoon- spring-4

Personally, I love the winter months too. I wait for Autumn to arrive each year so I can wrap myself in a comfy coat and put on my cozy boots. But now that spring has arrived, I find myself gearing up to whip up my summer outfits, which if you follow my instagram account, are bright, beautiful and highly colourful.

12-archana-monsoon-spring-42

So here’s my first OOTD for Spring 2016. And it’s from one of my favourite brands – Monsoon, which according to me, has the best spring and summer outfits. The dress I’m wearing is from their latest beach collection, and is a great pick for a peaceful stroll by the beach – ah, I’m dreaming of vacations already!

07-archana-monsoon-spring-23

Equally causal and chic are my ghunaroo-embellished sandals. They are from Monsoon as well and what I love about them is that the ghungaroos add a unique, stylish touch, but make no noise that would draw too much attention while you walk, I like their nude colour which makes it so easy to pair them with all the bright coloured summer or spring outfits.

accessroize-spring

The accessories that you see –the necklace, the bracelet and the rings – are from Accessorize which is a sister brand to Monsoon. I have to say, their holiday accessories are quite lovely, and I tend to pick up a lot of stuff from Accessorize on every visit.

DIY – Spring Nail Trends

It can be hard to keep your nails looking fresh and trendy, as some of the newest styles seem crazy complicated. If you’re anything like me, you’ll spend the majority of your magazine-leafing time thinking who on earth has the time to do that?!. So, for those of you who want to keep bang-on-trend, but don’t have the time for ridiculously fiddly nail art, here are a selection of the hottest nail trends that can be achieved with minimal effort on your part. What more could you want?

DIY Spring Nail

Dotty

Dotty nails look tricky and fiddly, but there are a couple of ways to achieve this super-snazzy look with minimal effort. Either just use a sharpie for those beautiful little dots, or if the colours don’t work for you, try dipping the end of a bobby pin in your nail varnish of choice. That way, you’ll have uniform, easily-applied dots. Go dotty for dots!

Simple stripe

It’s all about the stripes in nail art this season, and there are so many ways to pull off this look. All you need to use is some masking tape. Literally, that’s it. Try diagonal stripes or, for a more minimalist look, try a simple vertical stripe to one side of the nail.

Word art

This is absolutely one of the coolest nail art ideas I’ve ever seen. As an avid book-lover, I can’t wait to try this one myself! All you need are some small pieces of cut-up newspaper, some alcohol (vodka or gin work fine) and your base nail colour. It goes without saying that lighter colours work best here, as they’ll make the words show up most. Once your base colour is completely dry, just soak your newspaper pieces in the alcohol and apply to the nail. Hold them in place for a good minute, and when you peel the paper away the ink will have transferred to your nail. Awesome!

Mix it up

Something as simple as choosing a different colour for each nail can really freshen up your nail art look. This season, since

It’s spring, it’s all about the pastels, so choose a few nice shades and get painting. Can’t get much easier than that.

 Fishnet nails

Fishnet nails look super-cool, and you can really have some fun with them. All you need is your nail polish (at least two colours) and a piece of fishnet – this can be taken from any old pair of fishnet tights you might have lying around. Once your base colour is totally dry, just lay the fishnet over the nail and apply the second colour. It generally works best if you dab at the nail rather than using strokes as you usually would, to make sure that the fishnet doesn’t move too much. Pull away the fishnet and you’re left with this amazing effect. Btw, it works with lace, too!

So get creative this spring with your nails. Even if you’ve never ventured into nail art before, give these five tried and tested methods a go and you’ll be on your way to salon-beautiful, creative and fun, fresh nails.
