Dressing this Winter season- Here are the 3 best looks!

As the seemingly endless summer came to an end. It’s time to dress up and flaunt the best we have in our pre-winter wardrobes. And I suggest some creative mix-and-match looks that can be ideated by combining different pieces that you have and creating versatile outfits for work and party. Here are three stellar looks that I want to share for autumn 2018.

The office look – straight skirt with or without jacket

Ribbed Turtleneck Top
Price: £16.95

Sassy Pleats Skirt
Price: £39.95

Let’s start with this stylish office look that I’ve created by wearing a grey pencil skirt with a red turtleneck. The Sassy Pleats Skirt in grey and red check is simple yet elegant and is embellished with decorative buttons to the back. It is teamed with a red ribbed turtleneck that offers warmth and complements it to perfection.

Coat from New Look

For jewelry, I chose to wear simple pearls with the outfit. And you can throw over the Red Check Bouclé Coat for extra layering and formal vibe. The ensemble is just right for the office and can carry you to the evening drinks as well!

The evening look-Jeans with sequin jumper

Sequin Embellished Jumper – Purple
Price: £45

Overdye Blue Jeggings
Price: £45

Taking the Chelsea Boot to new heights
Price: £75.00

The next is the stunning evening look, with a pair of skinny jeans and a delicate sequin jumper. The dark blue skinny jeans offer awesome comfort, while the gorgeous sequins provide just the right dose of glitz and glamour to make heads turn as you step into the pub. I chose to wear ankle-length boots with the outfit.

Eye-catching without going over the top-that’s how I would define this amazing evening look.

The casual look- Green puffer jacket with jeans

Cartmell Lightweight Down Jacket Detail
Price: £80.00

Overdye Blue Jeggings
Price: £45

Now that I talked about the office and evening-out looks, I would next talk about this swanky day-out look. This one is again with my dark blue jeans, this time teamed with a chic green puffer jacket.

The best thing about the jacket is that it is ultra-lightweight yet offers plenty of warmth because it is lightly down-filled. And I absolutely love this shade of green. Once again, I have finished the look with my black ankle-length boots.

So that sums up my three autumn styles for this season. Hope you’ll love them as much as I do!

“Autumn Feels” – 3 New Outfits to keep your Autumn Wardrobe Updated

It’s that time of the year again where we have a light breeze, colourful leaves and bare trees. Autumn is all about romantic warm colours, hot chocolate, snuggly sweaters and pumpkins. There is more to look forward to this cosy weather, it’s the new Autumn Winter Collection. The runway is bustling with gorgeous new season Fall/Autumn Collection and now is the best time to stock up on the fall pieces. But when getting your wardrobe ready for the new season it’s important to keep a balance between the trending pieces and the basics in your wardrobe. From peep toe boots to bright jackets, these autumn trends are worth recreating for the Instagram this week.

Outfit 1

Add a splash of colour to your autumn wardrobe with a sunshine yellow jacket. This coast waterproof jacket by Joules is perfect for the rainy and stormy days as its 100% waterproof. The boxy style jacket is a part of their Right as Rain collection. The jacket has a soft jersey lining which looks great whether you decide to button or zip it up. I paired the jacket with a Harbour Jersey Top from Joules as well.

This much loved stripped top is one of my all-time favourite pieces as it is so versatile and works well for any season. It’s a true wear it anywhere essential. I finished off the look with crop denim and comfy canvas shoes for a cosy comfortable style. This outfit is perfect for an adventurous day out. You can go trekking, a walk in the park or a fruit picking and stay fashionable at the same time.

Outfit 2

Work wardrobe is very tricky when it comes to autumn season. Stop worrying about your autumn work wardrobe with this curated outfit which is work appropriate, uber stylish and easy to pull off. Florals are still in this season and are a great addition to your wardrobe. Set the trend this season in an elegant floral lace skirt by Hush. I paired this eye-catching black and blue wavey striped skirt with a star printed shirt.

This is a 9 to 9 outfit as you can totally transform the skirt for a chic casual look by pairing it with an oversized jumper and ankle boots. You can even pair the top with denims and a light jacket for a casual look. Accessories are essential to any outfit. I upped the style game by pairing my outfit with a statement necklace from Bijou Bijou. Lastly I added some peep toe block heels and a box bag for a flirty and feminine touch. I prefer to style my hair in a bun to flaunt my statement necklace and add a formal touch to the outfit.

Outfit 3

Autumn is all about some romantic looks and cute outfits. For my third outfit I style a pale green pleated dress with an attached knit top from Cos store. It’s a very versatile dress which can be paired with a leather jacket and boots for an edgy look or just styled with some statement accessories or a layered necklace for a simple look. Since the evenings are a bit chilly I paired the dress with a blue knit cardigan to keep myself warm and comfortable.

I paired the dress with a beret hat in grey and peep toe black block heels. My favourite part of the outfit is the ballerina necklace from Ted Baker. Ted’s given his signature prima ballerina a little update for the new season. The dainty pendant has a rose gold ballerina dressed in a pretty tutu with pearl detailing. This necklace is guaranteed to match most of your outfits this season.

‘Tis The Season For Comfort Wear!

Hoodies, hot cocoa, colourful leaves, pumpkins and bonfires means, the autumn season is finally here! It’s time to bid adieu to our flirty summer dresses, shorts, and pastel colours too. The fashion forecast for autumn is all about comfort clothing. Warm toned hues, clothes with a snuggly fit, three quartered or full sleeves cardigans, boots and plaid shirts are my top style picks which I will be pulling off this season for a comfortable and effortlessly stylish look. A lot of people find it difficult to dress for autumn season. The air is crisp and chilly in the evening which makes you reach out for cozy outfits like your favourite sweater. But don’t just lump on layers this autumn. Gear up for the sweater weather with style tips from my wardrobe.

Recently I visited Delhi, culturally rich and highly fashion-forward city. What makes Delhi a really nice city to visit is the fact that there are a number of historical places, each of which has its own story to tell and also serves as a picturesque spot. Apart from Humayun’s Tomb, Lodhi Gardens, Red Fort, Jantar Mantar, Safdarjung Tomb, India Gate and Hauz Khas village should definitely be on one’s itinerary.

Delhi is also a paradise for all the foodies and shopaholics Connaught place, Janpath. Sarojini Nagar, Lajpat Nagar, Karol Bagh and Dilli Haat are some of the places where you can shop till you drop and then eat to your heart’s content.

Delhi had the perfect autumn weather during my trip. I styled two outfits from Fatface.com, which were absolutely perfect given the light crisp breeze. What makes Fatface different is that the clothes are washed again and again to give you the comfortable old favourite tee feel. Their super soft cardigans, jumpers, tops are a must-have for your autumn wardrobe.

For my first look, I styled a simple plaid shirt with a pair of skinny jeans. The shades of pink, blue and plum complemented each other really well and add the right amount of warmth to the outfit. I tucked my skinny jeans into brown ankle boots. Boots are an absolute essential during the autumn season as they keep your feet warm, are comfortable to walk in and of course, they look amazing. I threw on a brown sling bag to match my boots. The easiest way to push up your fashion scale is to match your bag to your footwear. I kept my accessories minimal by pairing a delicate long chain and two thin bracelets with my outfit.

For my second look, I sported a monochrome polka dotted dress. I am always game for Polka dots. They have a cute and playful vibe which can be styled for both work and play. The shirt dress has a fitted waist and a flattering hem which can be easily paired with a cute cardigan for an evening date or a blazer and heels for boss lady look. I teamed up the dress with my brown boots and bag from my first look with minimal accessories. If you’re opting for a monochrome outfit, add a pop of colour to your outfit with a bright lipstick. After all, autumn is all about looking bright and vibrant while feeling light and free.

Both the outfits are a classic style for autumn season which can be paired with different pieces from your wardrobe to create a comfy look. Get set for the season ahead with these must-have styles from Fatface. What are your top picks for autumn? Let me know in the comments below.

Things To Help You Make The Most Of Your Garden This Autumn

Now that the autumn season has kicked in, pumpkin is in the air, sweet scents, and new gardening projects are just around the corner for homeowners. But, for those who want to make the most out of their garden and want it to truly bloom, regardless of weather, there are a few simple things you can do when planting and caring for the garden, to ensure this is the case. Consider some of these tips to make the most out of the garden space, and truly create an area you are going to enjoy for your home.

Know your zone
Yes, it is important to know the zone you are gardening and planting in. Not only so you choose plants and trees which can grow there, but also to ensure they can thrive through cooler months, with limited sunshine. Making sure you know what to plant, how to plant, and where to plant it, will allow you to develop an excellent gardening area, and one which will thrive, even during the colder months ahead.

Mulch
Perennials remain dormant, protect roots and bulbs, help keep freezing at bay. Yes, simply adding fresh mulch and properly caring for it when cultivating your autumn garden, will help it thrive. Due to the limited growth, limited water production, and plants which require moisture during this season, mulch is essential for your garden’s success. Add it regularly, properly care for it, and ensure it is evenly spread during these months of the year when planting.

Choose the right veggies
With colder weather, you also have to choose the right items to plant. Collards, mustard greens, and darker, leafy greens, are the ones which will typically thrive during the colder months. Root veggies, such as beets, are also a great option for you to add to your garden during this season. Avoid items like tomatoes, fruity or scented veggies, as they can’t survive the colder months or frost which is sure to pop up at some point in time or another during the winter months.

Tilling
If you live in areas where frost and snow are eventually going to show up, make sure you perform proper tilling regularly. Choose mulch and grass which remain dormant and do not grow during the season. Not only so you don’t have root build up, but also to avoid the “dead” growth in the garden. It will also help in preventing the soil which is below the surface from freezing, and potentially killing out the entire harvest you have cultivated during the autumn months when you choose these dormant soils and fertilizers during the season.

Hosting friends

If you are planning on hosting a few friends at your house this autumn then why not make the most of your garden. Garden parties have become quite popular since more and more people have started to buy fire pits for the colder months of the year. Fire pits are great to sit around with your friends and family and toast a few marshmallows. With bonfire night and Halloween approaching a fire pit would be a brilliant addition to your household. If you would like to look at a few fire pits then gardenflame.co.uk is a good place to start.

Of course every garden is going to differ a bit, especially depending on the zone where you live and plan to do your planting and gardening in. But, with these things in mind, anyone can have a garden which thrives during the season. These are a few simple tips anyone can follow, which are sure to help your garden thrive, and allow you to enjoy this hobby, even during the colder months of the year to come.
