- 1 kg Boiled Potatoes
- Salt as per taste
- 1 tbsp. Coriander Powder
- 1 tbsp. Roasted Cumin Seeds
- 1 tbsp. Chaat Masala
- 1 small bowl Chopped Coriander
- 1 small bowl Boiled Peas
- 1 small bowl Cornflour
- 2 tbsp. Oil
- 1 tbsp. Red Chili Powder or Chopped Green Chilli (optional)
- Bread Crumbs (for coating)
Peel the boiled potatoes and grate them using a grater.
To the grated potatoes, add salt, coriander powder, chaat masala, cumin seeds, chopped coriander, boiled peas and cornflour.
Mix everything together using a spoon and then mash it using hands to make a dough-like mixture.
Put a foil paper in the baking tray and then coat it nicely with oil.
Take some potato mixture, and using the hands make ball-sized tikkis.
Roll the tikkis in breadcrumbs until they are covered nicely and place them on the baking tray. Repeat this step for the entire mixture.
Once all tikkis are placed on the baking tray, bake them in the oven for 35 minutes at 200 C.
When the tikkis are golden brown in colour take them out.
Your tikkis are ready. Serve them hot with chutney of your choice. I like them with coriander & mint chutney and tomato ketchup.
- Let the boiled potatoes cool or boil them a day before as it helps the tikkis to bind better.
- For more flavour, add onion, garlic and ginger powder.
